My name is Abbigail Mitchell and I am currently a junior at Marshfield High School in Marshfield, WI. I look forward to finding a college that will allow me to continue my gymnastics career and take my passion for the sport to the next level.

This is my second year competing at level 10. By the time I graduate in 2021, I will have competed at level 10 for three years. I take pride in my work ethic and perseverance. I am extremely coachable and try my best to always remain positive. I am a team leader and consistently motivate my teammates to always strive for their best. I believe a positive attitude is essential to succeed as a gymnast.

Academics is also extremely significant to me and has always been a major focus in my life. I am just as dedicated to my school work as I am to the gym. I am fortunate that my high school has been supportive of my gymnastics career and has allowed me to participate in blended education, which has helped me focus on both my gymnastics and academic career equally. These virtual classes have allowed me to work independently at a fast pace, strengthening my time management and self-motivation skills, and preparing me for undergraduate coursework.

I am extremely lucky to have a loving and supportive family that keeps me motivated and helps me reach my full potential, athletically and academically. My oldest brother is a graduate of UW Eau Claire and currently a Police Officer and Swat Team Officer. My sister is a graduate of the University of Iowa and now works for Naval Air Station Whidbey Island Child and Youth Programs and is currently perusing her master's degree. My other sibling is currently at University of Buffalo on a Division I Wrestling Scholarship. I am fortunate to have such great role models in my life and understand the dedication it takes to be a a successful student and athlete.

I look forward to my last two competition seasons and continuing to pursue my goals. My family’s philosophy has always been “Hard Work Makes Dreams Come True.” It is finally my time to make my dreams come true!
