Abby was born on August 25, 2000 in Royal Oak, MI to Ronn and Rebecca Walsh. She has an older sister, Elizabeth and a younger sister, Tara. Elizabeth is a former gymnast and Tara is also a gymnast at Olympia Gymnastics Academy. Abby completed the rigorous admissions testing and is a senior at International Academy in Bloomfield Hills, MI. She will graduate in 2018.

Abby followed her older sister, Elizabeth, into gymnastics when she was two years old. She trained at Oakland Gymnastics Training Center in Walled Lake, MI for 15 years until 2017. Abby began competing level 4 in 2007 at age six. She qualified to the State Championships in level 5 and level 6. As a level 7 gymnast in 2012, Abby won the all-around title with a 37.675 and placed first on uneven bars and second on balance beam at the State Championships.

In 2013, Abby moved up to level 8. She finished second in the all-around with a 37.800, first on vault and second on floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 5 Championships, she placed second in the all-around with a 38.050, first on vault and fourth on uneven bars and balance beam. Abby quickly moved up to level 9 for the 2015 season. She finished third in the all-around, first on balance beam and second on vault at the State Championships. At the Region 5 Championships, Abby placed first in the all-around with a 37.650 and second on vault and balance beam. This qualified Abby to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals in Kissimmee, FL where she placed fourth in the all-around with a 37.200, second on vault and third on balance beam.

As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2016, Abby finished fifth in the all-around and third on uneven bars at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 5 Championships. In 2017, Abby finished in the top ten in the all-around and fifth on vault at the State Championships. At the Region 5 Championships, she placed in the top 15 in the all-around and eighth on floor exercise with a 9.450. In April 2017, Abby moved to Olympia Gymnastics Academy.

Abby is currently training to compete level 10 and hopes to make her first trip to JO Nationals in 2018. Abby hopes to one day compete at a Division I college where she can maximize her academic and athletic talent.
