Aimee Elisabeth was born on July 27th, 2002 in Austin, TX to William and Lynn Barclay. She is the youngest of three children. Her oldest brother Daniel is a heavy equipment diesel mechanic currently employed by Holt Caterpillar. Jacob, her other brother, is an active duty Naval Air Crewman stationed at Tinker AFB Oklahoma City, OK. Being the youngest of three children, instinctively taught Aimee to be a strong willed, independent and competitive individual who never backs down from a challenge which has helped mold her into the confident and capable athlete she is today.

Aimeeā€™s entry into the world of gymnastics began at age five, with a desire to learn how to do a basic cartwheel. This led to her enrollment in a summer recreational gymnastics program at Acrotex Gymnastics in Round Rock, TX. Her enthusiasm and competitive spirit would lead to an invite for team competition, beginning with Acrotex and their in house mini meets. In 2013, Aimee transferred to Zero Gravity Gymnastics of Leander, TX which would be her gymnastics home for the next four years starting at level 3 and advancing to level 6 in 2017. During her time at Zero Gravity, Aimee flourished as a gymnast. She would finish sixth in the all-around and fourth on floor exercise in the Level 5 State Championships. At Level 6 State Championships, she finished second in the all-around with a 37.625, first on floor exercise and second on balance beam.

In the summer of 2017, the family made the move to Spicewood, TX. Aimee continued her gymnastics journey with Flipnastics of Lakeway, TX. She would quickly advance through level 7 then onto level 8 for the 2018 competition season. Aimee qualified for the 2018 State Championships but was unfortunately unable to compete due to a minor injury. She continues to train hard every day under the guidance of coaches Rachel Schaffer and Erica Peressin. Aimee is a devoted and hardworking gymnast that spends 24 hours a week in the gym refining her skills and focusing on her goal of qualifying for the Level 9 Western Nationals in 2020.

Aimee attends Lake Travis High School as a senior. She is an honor student with a GPA of 4.0 and was inducted into the National Honor Society in her sophomore year. Along with her love for gymnastics, Aimee also has a fondness for animals. One of her goals in life is to become a veterinarian. She is an active member in the Lake Travis High School FFA and is currently raising a show lamb for the upcoming school year. She is focused on pursuing an undergraduate degree in veterinary and biomedical sciences in college then onto veterinary school.

Aimee dreams of competing at a collegiate level in gymnastics while pursuing her degree. Ultimately combining the two most significant passions in her life. Gymnastics and a love for animals.
