Welcome to the Official Website of Aja-Monet Sims! Aja is a level 10 gymnast from Brandy Johnson's Global Gymnastics in Clermont, Florida. She is training under coaches Kelly Pitzen, Brian Amato and Brandy Johnson-Scharpf.
As a level 9 gymnast in 2008, Aja placed fourth in the all-around at the Eastern Nationals. She moved up to level 10 in 2009 and won the all-around title at the Level 10 State Championships. She earned a silver medal on uneven bars at the Level 10 Regionals. That same year, she qualified to junior pre-elite and competed at the US Challenge. In 2011, Aja won the all-around title at the Level 10 Florida State. Aja qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals after winning a silver medal on uneven bars. At the JO Nationals, she placed impressive fourth on uneven bars and in the all-around out of 57 gymnasts! During the JO Nationals, Aja's new bars skill was approved as an E skill and it is named The Sims. A few weeks after JO Nationals, Aja qualified to senior international elite and competed at the US Covergirl Classic in Chicago, IL. In 2012, Aja placed second in the all-around and first on vault and uneven bars at the Level 10 State Championships. She swept the gold medals at the Level 10 Regionals. qualifying to the JO Nationals in Hampton, VA. She became the 2012 JO National Uneven Bars, Balance Beam and All-Around Champion.
