Alissa Fuelling was born on June 20, 2003 in Rapid City, SD to Steve and Gwen Fuelling. She has two sisters, Brittany and Caitlin and a cat named Bella. Currently, Alissa is an honor student at Stevens High School and she will graduate in 2021. She is a member of Young Life. During her spare time, she enjoys slacklining, camping and going to the lake.

Alissa followed her older sisters into gymnastics when she was three years old and fell in love with the sport. She has been training at Just Jymnastics in Rapid City, SD her whole gymnastics career. At the age of nine, she competed as a level 8 gymnast in 2013 where she placed first in the all-around with a 37.325 and first on uneven bars and floor exercise at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 4 Championships. In 2014, at age of ten, Alissa finished second in the all-around and first on uneven bars at the Level 9 State Championships. She qualified to the Region 4 Championships but was unable to finish the meet due to an injury on her first event.

In 2015, at age of 11, Alissa started competing level 10. She finished second in the all-around and first on uneven bars and floor exercise at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 4 Championships.

Alissa trains over 20 hours per week at Just Jymnastics in Rapid City, SD under coaches Alan Ponto and Amy Ellis. She is working hard to qualify to the Junior Olympic Nationals. Her long-term goal is to compete for a college gymnastics team.
