Amalya's mom signed her up for a gymnastics class at US Gymnastics Development Center when she was three years old. She took classes for a year before she came home with a letter inviting her to join the pre-team stars program. Amalya's coaches for levels 4 and 5 were Zulieta Smoljan, Sinisa Smoljan and Ana Nunes. Following her level 5 season, Amalya switched to Aeon Fitness and Gymnastics in Hillsdale, NJ.

Amalya qualified to the Level 8 State Championships in 2014 and 2015. She moved up to level 9 for the 2016 season where she placed at eighth on balance beam with a 9.300 at the State Championships. At the Region 7 Championships, Amalya placed sixth on balance beam. In 2017, Amalya finished fifth in the all-around with a 37.050 and second on uneven bars scoring a 9.525 at the Region 7 Championships. She qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals in Lansing, MI.

In 2018, Amalya moved to Galaxy Gymnastics in New York. She placed sixth on uneven bars at the Level 9 State Championships. She qualified to the Region 6 Championships, finishing fifth on uneven bars. Amalya competed as a level 10 gymnast in 2019 where she qualified to the Region 6 Championships. In the summer of 2019, Amalya was selected to represent the United States at the Pan American Maccabi Games held in Mexico City. She helped her team to win the team gold medal. Individually, she placed fourth in the all-around and second on vault.

Amalya qualified to the 2020 Level 10 State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Amalya trains 25 hours per week at Galaxy Gymnastics in New York under coaches Jamie Winkler, Sergei Petrouniak, Galina Petrouniak and Alexander Miretsky. Her long-term goal is to compete for a college gymnastics team.
