Amira loved to flip and to play on the gym equipment, so her parents decided to enroll her into gymnastics for fun when she was four years old in 2003. She began her gymnastics career at Michigan Academy of Gymnastics (MAG) in Ann Arbor, MI. When she was at MAG, she earned bronze medals on uneven bars and in the all-around at the 2009 Level 6 Fall State Championships. In 2010, she finished fifth in the all-around and second on balance beam at the Level 6 Spring State Championships. In December 2010, Amira began training at Oakland Gymnastics Training Center in Walled Lake, MI.

As a level 7 gymnast in 2011, Amira finished fifth in the all-around with a 37.450 and fourth on uneven bars at the State Championships. At the 2012 Level 8 State Championships, she placed in the top ten in the all-around. She qualified to the Region 5 Championships where she placed eighth in the all-around, sixth on vault and seventh on uneven bars. In 2013, Amira grabbed gold medals on vault, uneven bars and in the all-around with a 37.725 at the State Championships. She placed fifth all-around at Regionals. During Amira's last year of level 8 in 2014, she finished third in the all-around with a 37.425, first on vault and third on uneven bars at the State Championships. At the Region 5 Championships, she placed first in the all-around with a 37.700, first on vault, fourth on uneven bars and fifth on balance beam. Amira was undefeated on vault the entire 2014 season.

Amira moved up to level 9 for the 2015 season. She finished fifth in the all-around, first on vault and fourth on uneven bars at the State Championships. At the Region 5 Championships, she placed second in the all-around with a 37.325, first on vault and fifth on uneven bars. She qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals in Kissimmee, FL where she placed seventh in the all-around and first on vault.

As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2016, Amira finished fourth on vault with a 9.500 at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 5 Championships where she placed fourth on vault and balance beam.

Currently, Amira is preparing for the 2017 season as a level 10 gymnast. She trains 25-27 hours per week at Oakland Gymnastics Training Center in Walled Lake, MI under coaches Ruth Miller, Mel Foster and Renee Henry. Amira would like to compete for a college gymnastics team.
