Angelina Liu was born on December 23, 2000 in Texas to Gang Liu and Qing Song. She has an older brother, Bob and a white Pomeranian poodle dog named Katherine. Currently, Angelina is an honor student at Memorial High School and she will graduate from high school in 2019. When she has time outside of gymnastics, she enjoys reading, drawing, baking, cooking and volunteering. Angelina volunteered at Teen Leader AWANA, Texas Children's Teen Summer, Houston Food Bank and Discover Fitness Foundation.
As a level 7 gymnast in 2012, Angelina finished third on vault and fourth on balance beam at the State Championships. She moved up to level 8 for the 2013 season where she placed eighth on balance beam with a 9.650 at the Region 3 Championships. In 2014 as a first-year level 9 gymnast, Angelina qualified to the State Championships. In 2015, she earned a silver medal on uneven bars at the State Championships and Region 3 Championships. Following her 2015 season, Angelina moved to Discover Gymnastics in Houston, TX.
In 2016, Angelina competed in her third and final level 9 season. At the State Championships, she finished first in the all-around with a 37.650 and first on uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise. Angelina finished fifth in the all-around with a 37.200, first on uneven bars and second on floor exercise at the Region 3 Championships. She qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals in Montana where she placed second on uneven bars and sixth on floor exercise. Angelina moved up to level 10 for the 2017 season. She placed fifth in the all-around at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, she finished eighth in the all-around and sixth on uneven bars. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Indianapolis, IN.
Currently, Angelina is preparing for the 2018 season as a level 10 gymnast. She trains 24.5 hours per week at Discover Gymnastics in Houston, TX under coaches Costela Mihaiuc and Juan Manuel Corzo. She would like to compete for a college gymnastics team.
