Anna was born on October 26, 2002 in Minnesota to John and Tammy Leigh. She has a sister, Julia, a brother, Jackson and a dog named Lucky. Anna is an honor student at St. Michael-Albertville High School. She has been on A Honor Roll since her freshman year. When Anna has time outside of gymnastics, she enjoys drawing, painting, baking and spending time with her friends.
Anna had been doing competitive dance and she signed up to do a tumbling class. She discovered that she loved gymnastics, so she started taking classes when she turned ten years old. Anna started her gymnastics career at Tobler Gymnastics in Anoka, MN. Prior to gymnastics, Anna earned a national title for her solo in dancing.
Just four short years later, Anna started competing level 10 in 2016 where she placed seventh on floor exercise at the State Championships. In 2017, she placed in the top ten in the all-around and seventh on balance beam and floor exercise at the Region 4 Championships. Anna qualified to the 2018 Junior Olympic Nationals after finishing third in the all-around and first on balance beam and floor exercise at the Region 4 Championships. At the Nationals in Cincinnati, OH, she placed tenth on balance beam with a 9.500 and 13th on floor exercise with a 9.475. In 2019, Anna placed second in the all-around and first on balance beam at the Region 4 Championships, qualifying to the Junior Olympic Nationals again in Indianapolis, IN.
In the summer of 2019, Anna moved to Classic Gymnastics in Chanhassen, MN. In 2020, Anna qualified to the Level 10 State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic.
