Annalise "Anna" Khandelwal was born on March 27, 2002 in Ohio to Sorabh and Elizabeth Khandelwal. She has two sisters, Sophia and Juliette, a brother, Jackson and a Pomeranian named Coco. Annalise is an honor student at Dublin Jerome High School and she will graduate from high school in 2020. Along with gymnastics, Annalise loves doing anything relative to art and being creative including painting, drawing and cooking. She also loves being social with her school friends and hanging out with her family. When Annalise gets a chance, she loves to be active with outside activities including running in races such as race for the cure and the Flying Feather.
Annalise loved watching gymnastics on TV, especially the Olympics and college gymnastics. She would always be running around her house attempting handstands and cartwheels which made her parents put Annalise into the gymnastics program at Integrity Athletics in Columbus, OH when she was four years old. At the 2010 Level 4 State Championships, Annalise finished third in the all-around with a 37.425 and first on balance beam and floor exercise. In the summer of 2010, Annalise moved to Universal Gymnasts, Inc. in Hilliard, OH and has been there ever since.
In 2011, Annalise finished first in the all-around with a 37.325 and first on balance beam and floor exercise at the Level 5 State Championships. She moved up to level 6 for the 2012 season where she finished second in the all-around and first on floor exercise at the State Championships. Annalise moved up to level 7 in 2013, finishing second in the all-around with a 37.775 and first on floor exercise at the State Championships.
Annalise tested out of level 8 and quickly moved up to level 9 for the 2014 season. At the State Championships, she finished second on floor exercise and third on balance beam. She qualified to the Region 5 Championships where she placed fourth on floor exercise with a 9.450. Annalise continued competing level 9 in 2015, finishing sixth in the all-around and second on floor exercise with a 9.500 at the State Championships. At the Region 5 Championships, she earned a silver medal on floor exercise with a 9.550. In 2016, third and final level 9 season, Annalise finished sixth on balance beam at the State Championships and seventh on floor exercise at the Region 5 Championships. Annalise qualified to the Level 10 Region 5 Championships in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
Annalise trains 20 hours per week at Universal Gymnasts, Inc. in Hilliard, OH under coaches Dave Anthony, Natalia Laschenova and Bill Widman. Annalise's long-term goal is to compete for a college gymnastics team.
