April started gymnastics at 18 months old in Mommy and Me classes. She was always jumping on the couches and doing cartwheels around the house, so her mom thought gymnastics would be a great place for her. At the age five, April did a summer camp at the gym and the teachers suggested that April to join the pre-team at Rebounders Gymnastics and has been there ever since.

She started competing level 4 in 2009 and competed at the State Championships. At the 2010 Level 5 State Championships, April finished sixth in the all-around, third on uneven bars and fourth on vault. She tested out of level 6 and started competing level 7 for the 2010-2011 season. She earned a silver medal on vault at the State Championships.

In November 2011, April moved up to level 8 for the Black-Eyed Susan Invitational where she placed second on uneven bars and fifth in the all-around. She was unable to compete rest of the 2011-2012 season due to an injury. In 2013, April placed sixth in the all-around, third on uneven bars and fourth on floor exercise at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 7 Championships where she finished seventh in the all-around.

In 2014, April moved up to level 9 where she finished fourth on balance beam and sixth on floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 7 Championships, she finished 12th in the all-around with a 36.375, her season-high all-around score. She also placed sixth on uneven bars with a 9.525 and eighth on vault scoring a 9.300. As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2015, April won the uneven bars title at the State Championships and qualified to the Region 7 Championships. She was unable to compete in 2016 due to an injury.

April had a solid season in 2017 where she earned three silver medals and four bronze medals on individual events throughout the season. She was unable to compete at the State Championships due to an injury.

Currently, April is preparing for the 2018 season as a level 10 gymnast. She trains 23.5 hours per week at Rebounders Gymnastics in Timonium, Maryland under coaches Dave Coffman, Karen Kolivita and Jessica Ryan. April would like to compete for a college gymnastics team.
