Ashley started gymnastics at the age of six in Heidelberg, Germany. Ashley was a military brat and moved much. At the age of eight, after returning to the States, she competed as a level 5 gymnast for Riverview Gymnastics Center in Newport News, VA. At age nine, Ashley moved to Fort Stewart, GA where she did her level 6 & 7 years with Vanessa Kuhns at Leaps and Bound Gymnastics Center in Jesup, GA. At age 11, Ashley moved back to Virginia and began her gymnastics career with World Class Gymnastics.
In 2007, Ashley skipped level eight and competed level nine. She finished third on vault, second on balance beam and third in the all-around at the Level 9 State Championships. She moved up to level ten in 2008. She finished fourth on uneven bars at the AOGC Invitational. At the Frederick Classic, she placed first on vault and second on uneven bars, floor and in the all-around. At the Level 10 State Championships, Ashley won balance beam and the all-around. She placed second on the other three events. She finished fourth in the all-around and won vault and floor exercise at the Level 10 Regional Championships. There, she qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals, where she placed seventh on vault.
In November of 2008, Ashley finished third on vault at the Commonwealth Cup. She placed second on uneven bars and balance beam at the World Class Invitational in December. In January of 2009, Ashley won vault, beam and floor exercise at the Gymnastics in Paradise Meet. She also won the all-around title. She finished second in the all-around at the Battle of the Champions meet. She then competed at the Excalibur Cup, where she won vault and floor exercise and finished second in the all-around. She won floor exercise at the Palm Beach Invitational in addition to finishing second in the all-around. At the Level 10 State Championships, she swept the gold medals scoring a 38.375 all-around. Ashley then finished first in the all-around at the Level 10 Regional Championships. She placed second on every event. At the Junior Olympic Nationals in Washington, she placed ninth on vault and fifth on floor exercise.
After Ashley's successful Junior Olympic season, she qualified to junior international elite after finishing 19th overall at the July National Elite Qualifier. At the US Covergirl Classic in Des Moines, Iowa, Ashley finished fifth on vault and qualified to the Junior VISA Championships. Ashley finished seventh on vault at the VISA Championships in Dallas, Texas.
Ashley began her 2009-2010 season at the Commonwealth Cup, where she won gold medals on vault and floor exercise. At the Christmas on the Chesapeake, she placed second in the all-around and second on vault. Ashley finished fourth overall and first on vault at the World Classic Invitational. Ashley then traveled to Cancun, Mexico for the Cancun Classic, where she placed second in the all-around, first on vault and second on uneven bars. She then won all-around titles at the Sand Dollar Invitational in Florida and Metroplex Challenge in Texas. At the Buckeye Classic, she finished second on vault in the junior elite division. At the Excalibur Cup, she placed fourth in the all-around and second on vault and balance beam. Ashley concluded her 2010 season at the Derby Classic, where she won the all-around as well as first on vault, balance beam and floor exercise.
Ashley has been busy with her 2010-2011 season. She started her season at the Richmond Fall Classic and finished second in the all-around as well as first on vault. At the World Class Invitational, she won the vault, uneven bars, balance beam and all-around titles. Ashley then finished third in the all-around at the Christmas on the Chesapeake and second in the all-around at the New Year Opener. Ashley traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada for the Lady Luck Invitational and won the all-around title as well as first on vault and balance beam. At the Parkette Invitational in Allentown, PA, she placed second overall. There, she qualified to the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup in Jacksonville, Florida. In February, Ashley traveled to Coppell, Texas for the Texas Prime Meet. She had another fantastic meet, finishing second in the all-around and first on floor exercise. On the next day, Ashley was on Team McCready's team for the Legendz Classic and Ashley helped the team to win the team title! A week later, Ashley won the all-around title at the Excalibur Cup. At the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup in Florida, she placed seventh on vault. A day after the Supergirl Cup, she won the all-around title at the Tim Rand Invitational. At the Level 10 State Championships, she won gold medals on balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around. Ashley concluded her 2011 season at the Level 10 Regionals where she placed third in the all-around and first on vault and floor exercise and qualified to her third JO Nationals. Ashley was unable to compete at the JO Nationals due to an injury.
Currently, Ashley is a level 10 gymnast training at World Class Gymnastics with Tami Harrison and Jon Angle. She is preparing for upcoming 2012 season as a level 10 gymnast. She also would like to qualify to senior international elite as well as to the VISA Championships after her JO season. Ashley would like to continue her passion of gymnastics in college.
Ashley Gabrielle Lambert was born on March 4, 1995 in Springfield, Virginia to Tonia and Steve Lambert. She has one older brother, Steve and one younger sister, Alyssa. Currently, Ashley is a junior at Menchville High School. She will graduate from high school in 2013.
