Athena was always so small and feisty when she was a toddler. When she turned five years old, her dad thought gymnastics would be her thing, so she took gymnastics classes at Clovis Academy. She quickly outgrew it and wanted more, so she moved to V-Force Elite Gymnastics in Madera, CA and she has been there ever since. Athena was the 2013 Level 3 NorCal State All-Around and Uneven Bars Champion and 2014 Level 4 NorCal State Floor Exercise Champion. Athena was named to America's Top 100 on floor exercise in level 3.
In 2016, Athena quickly moved up to level 7 after skipping level 6. She placed third on balance beam and fourth in the all-around at the State Championships.
