Thomas P. Costello LINDSAY POPLASKI
School: Brick
Year: Junior
Highlights: Poplaski made a return engagement to the NJSIAA Individual State Championships and set a meet record when she scored a 9.75 on balance beam to repeat as a state champion. She won the Shore Conference and NJSIAA South sectional titles in the event and finished second in the all-around with a score of 38.05 in the final. Brick finished the season at 9-3, and Poplaski will be competing at level 9 in club gymnastics. She hopes to compete at the college level.

AUSTYN FOBES
School: Howell
Year: Sophomore
Highlights: Competing at the high school level for the first time, Fobes was a key performer for the Rebels, who finished the season undefeated, and won the Shore Conference championship. She had high scores of 9.75 on bars and 9.725 on floor exercise. She was first in the Shore Conference and the NJSIAA Central I Sectional in the all-around and finished fifth in the NJSIAA State Championships. She also won the floor exercise events at the Shore Conference and sectional meets.

LINDSAY DIAMOND
School: Colts Neck
Year: Senior
Highlights: Diamond concluded a sensational career by winning the vault at the Shore Conference Championship and at the NJSIAA Central I sectional. She also placed second in the all-around at the Shore Conference meet. She was a key performer in her freshman year, when the Cougars won the SCT as a new program, as a sophomore when they won a sectional championship, as a junior when she was a first-team All-Shore selection, and this year, as the Cougars qualified for the sectional championships despite major setbacks for the team. She will attend the University of Rhode Island on a full scholarship next year.

LAUREN JACK
School: Marlboro
Year: Senior
Highlights: Jack's experience was a key ingredient as Marlboro once again qualified for the state sectionals. Once there, she showed her ability on the balance beam where she scored a 9.6 to win the event. Jack, a first-team All-Shore choice last year, finished fourth in the all-around at the Shore Conference Championships and in the NJSIAA Central I Sectional. She was ninth on uneven bars at the state championships, and finished 15th in the all-around.

BROOKE GROHOL
School: Red Bank Catholic
Year: Sophomore
Highlights: A top performer for the always highly regarded Caseys, Grohol helped the team win the NJSIAA Central I Sectional and finish second at the State Team Championships to Bishop Ahr. She placed second at the sectionals in the vault and the all-around, and placed fifth on the balance beam and sixth in vaulting in the state championships. In the future, she is hoping to compete in college and at the 10 level in club gymnastics.

NICOLETTE NEWTON
School: Lacey
Year: Senior
Highlights: One of Newton's goals when the season began was to help a new coaching staff get off to a good start. She did everything she could. During the season, she set school records on uneven bars and the all-around, while tying the high score for balance beam and floor exercises. She placed fourth at the Shore Conference Championships in the all-around, and helped her team place third in the NJSIAA South Sectional. She is undecided about what college she will attend but said that she is retiring from competition.
