Austyn began gymnastics at the age of three and quickly progressed in the sport. Austyn was part of the 2004-2005 Junior US National Team. She competed in high school gymnastics in 2006 where she earned many honors, such as conference all-around title, sectional title, fifth in the all-around at the High School State's. She also was named Gymnast of the Year. Austyn, as a junior, continued to expand her high school achievements in 2007. Austyn was two-time first team all district, two-time first team all shore, two-time team all state. Austyn was also the 2007 Asbury Park Press Gymnast of the Year and 2007 Star Ledger Gymnast of the Year. Below is a list of basic facts relating to Austyn's gymnastics career.
