Bailee Johnston was born in April 2008 to Logan and Paula Johnston. She has three sisters, two brothers and a pug named Brandi. Bailee is an honor student at her school and she will graduate from high school in 2026. Some of Bailee's school achievements include:

Bailee started in dance and enjoyed the tumbling aspect most of all. Her parents moved her to a gymnastics program, and she was invited to join team after two weeks. She started gymnastics in September 2016. After only four months, she started competing xcel bronze at the Roman Team Challenge and finished second in the all-around. At the State Championships, she finished in the top ten all-around with a 37.575 and third on vault scoring a 9.700. Bailee qualified to the Region 8 Championships, finishing ninth all-around with a 37.575. In 2018 as an xcel gold gymnast, Bailee placed eighth in the all-around and second on uneven bars at the State Championships. She was named to America's Top 100 on uneven bars with a 9.800.

Bailee trains 12-14 hours a week at Cartersville Twisters Gymnastics in Cartersville, GA under coaches Andrei & Louiza Kouznetsov, Sasha Stetsenko, and Galyna Losinka. Bailee is working hard to have a successful season as an xcel platinum in 2019, qualify to the State Championships, and advance to optional levels. Her long-term goal is to obtain a college gymnastics scholarship.
