Cassidy Avina was born on March 17, 2003 in New Hampshire. She currently lives in Austin, TX with her mom, Kelly Avina, a sister, Irene, a brother, Justin, three dogs and two cats. Currently, Cassidy is a student at McNeil High School and she will graduate in 2021. She is a member of Teen Leadership, German Club and Leadership Council. When Cassidy has time outside of gymnastics, she enjoys drawing and photography.

Cassidy has been training at Crenshaw Athletic Club in Austin, TX since 2013. She was the 2014 Level 5 State Floor Silver Medalist and 2015 Level 7 State Bars Bronze Medalist. She qualified to the 2015 Region 3 Championships where she earned a gold medal in the all-around, silver medals on vault and uneven bars and bronze medals on balance beam and floor exercise. In 2016, Cassidy earned bronze medals on balance beam and floor exercise at the Level 8 State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, she placed fifth in the all-around with a 37.500, second on floor exercise and third on balance beam.

Cassidy moved up to level 9 for the 2017 season. She brought home bronze medals on balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, she placed sixth in the all-around with a 37.100, second on floor exercise and fourth on balance beam. Cassidy qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals in Boise, ID where she earned a silver medal on balance beam. Cassidy was also named to America's Top 100 on floor exercise with a 9.700.

In 2018, Cassidy started competing level 10 where she qualified to the State Championships. Currently, she is working hard for the 2019 season where she hopes to qualify to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Indianapolis, IN. Her long-term goal is to compete for a college gymnastics team.
