Cassidy Elizabeth Girolamo was born on July 23, 2000 in Hartford, Connecticut to David and Sandi Girolamo. She has a younger brother, Zachary and a lizard named Knightly. Currently, Cassidy is a senior at Newington High School and she will graduate from high school in 2018.

As a toddler, Cassidy was very active where she used to bounce all over the house. She attended a friend's gymnastics meet and fell in love with the sport. Her parents enrolled her into the Mommy & Me class and Cassidy never looked back. She has been training at New England Gymnastics Express since she was two years old.

Cassidy competed in level 4 in 2007 and 2008. As a level 5 gymnast in 2009, she placed first in the all-around and floor exercise and second on uneven bars and balance beam at the State Championships. In level 6, Cassidy finished second in the all-around, second on uneven bars and first on balance beam at the 2010 Spring State Championships. In the fall, she placed third in the all-around, third on uneven bars and second on balance beam at the State Championships.

As a level 7 gymnast in 2011, Cassidy placed first in the all-around with a 36.575 and second on balance beam and floor exercise at the State Championships. She concluded her level 7 season at the Open Championships, finishing tenth in the all-around and eighth on uneven bars.

In 2012, Cassidy moved up to level 8. At the State Championships, she finished fifth in the all-around and second on vault and floor exercise. She qualified to to the Region 6 Championships where she finished third on uneven bars and eighth in the all-around. As a first-year level 9 gymnast in 2013, Cassidy placed second in the all-around, first on uneven bars and floor exercise and third on vault at the State Championships. She finished second on uneven bars and ninth in the all-around at the Region 6 Championships.

In 2014 as a second-year level 9 gymnast, Cassidy placed first on uneven bars and in the all-around as well as second on vault at the State Championships. She finished fifth in the all-around and second on uneven bars at the Region 6 Championships, qualifying to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals. In July, Cassidy traveled to Huntsville, TX for the National Elite Qualifier.

Cassidy moved up to level 10 for the 2015 season. She finished second in the all-around and second on all events at the State Championships. At the Region 6 Championships, Cassidy placed seventh in the all-around and fifth on uneven bars, qualifying to the JO Nationals in Des Moines, IA. In 2016, Cassidy fifth in the all-around and fourth on uneven bars at the Region 6 Championships. She qualified to the JO Nationals for the second time in Ft. Worth, TX.

In 2017, Cassidy finished fourth on vault and balance beam at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 6 Championships, finishing sixth on balance beam.

Currently, Cassidy is preparing for the 2018 season as a level 10 gymnast and she is in the elite training program. She trains 20-25 hours per week at New England Gymnastics Express in Connecticut under coaches Maureen Chagnon and Blane Jefferson. She would to obtain a Division I college gymnastics scholarship.
