Chalyn used to scare her mom by flipping and jumping off things at home. Her mom decided to enroll her into gymnastics in 2007 so she could have a safe place to flip. Chalyn started competing level 4 gymnast in 2011 at the age of eight. She finished seventh in the all-around with a 37.100 and fourth on vault and balance beam at the SoCal North State Championships. She moved up to level 5 for the 2012 season where she placed second in the all-around with a 37.325 and third on uneven bars and floor exercise. In 2013, Chalyn placed first in the all-around with a 38.550 and first on vault, uneven bars and balance beam at the SoCal North State Championships.

Chalyn moved up to level 7 for the 2014 season. At the State Championships, she placed second in the all-around with a 37.675, first on vault and second on uneven bars. She qualified to the Region 1 Championships, finishing first in the all-around with a 38.800 and first on uneven bars and balance beam. As a level 8 gymnast in 2015, Chalyn placed first in the all-around with a 37.775 and first on uneven bars at the Region 1 Championships.

In 2016 as a level 9 gymnast, Chalyn placed second in the all-around with a 37.650 and first on vault on balance beam. At the Region 1 Championships, she finished second in the all-around with a 37.325 and first on floor exercise. She qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals where she placed 14th in the all-around, first on balance beam and fourth on vault.

Chalyn moved up to level 10 and elite for the 2017 season. In January, Chalyn passed compulsories, a portion of elite testing with a 36.550. She placed sixth in the all-around, first on vault and second on floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 1 Championships, she finished third in the all-around, first on vault and second on balance beam. Chalyn qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Indianapolis, IN where she placed tenth in the all-around with a 37.725, 13th on vault and 14th on balance beam out of 56 gymnasts.

In 2018, Chalyn placed seventh in the all-around with a 37.100, third on vault and fourth on floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 1 Championships, she finished second in the all-around with a 38.050 and first on vault and floor exercise. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Cincinnati, OH where she won the vault title with a 9.750. Chalyn was named to America's Top 100 on vault four times and once in the all-around.

Chalyn trains 29 hours per week at Wallers’ GymJam Academy in Santa Clarita, CA training under coaches Iryna Krasnyanska, Stephen McCain, Alex Waller and Chris Waller. Chalyn would like to become an elite gymnast as well as to obtain a Division I college gymnastics scholarship.
