When Charniya was three years old, her parents saw that she had a natural talent for gymnastics. She could do a remarkable cartwheel! Her parents took her to a local gym, Let It Shine Gymnastics in Franklin, TN. Charniya started at four years old and they put on her a level 3 team in a very short time. Unfortunately for her, her parents took her out of gymnastics before competing and did not put her back until she was eight years old based on her pleading to go back. It has become her passion.

As a level 7 gymnast in 2015, Charniya placed first in the all-around with a 38.000, first on vault and second on floor exercise at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 8 Championships, finishing second in the all-around with a 38.375 and second on uneven bars. Charniya moved up to level 8 for the next two seasons. She placed fourth in the all-around with a 37.725 and second on uneven bars at the 2016 State Championships. At the 2016 Region 8 Championships, she finished third in the all-around with a 38.075 and fourth on vault and balance beam. In 2017, Charniya placed second in the all-around with a 37.675 and second on vault at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 8 Championships, scoring a 37.500 in the all-around and second on vault. She was named to America's Top 100 on uneven bars.

Charniya did well in 2018 as a level 9 gymnast! At the State Championships, she finished second in the all-around with a 37.000 and first on uneven bars and floor exercise. She then placed seventh in the all-around with a 37.125 and third on uneven bars at the Region 8 Championships. She qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals in Rochester, NY. Charniya moved up to level 10 for the 2019 season. She placed sixth on vault at the State Championships. She qualified to the 2020 Level 10 State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2021, Charniya had a great season where she placed first on vault and in the all-around with a 38.575 at the State Championships. At the Region 8 Championships, she finished third in the all-around with a 37.750 and second on uneven bars. This qualified Charniya to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Daytona Beach, FL where she finished in the top 15 in the all-around with a 37.525, eighth on uneven bars and 12th o floor exercise.

Charniya trains 20-22 hours per week at Let it Shine Gymnastics in Franklin, TN under coaches Matt Baker, Ashley Madera and Marco Arguelles. Charniya is working hard to qualify to the Junior Olympic Nationals and to compete for a college gymnastics team.
