Christa was born on July 13, 1991. She started gymnastics in 1995 at the age of four. Christa currently trains at a well-known gym, World Olympic Gymnastics Academy (WOGA) with Valeri Liukin and Natalya Markova.

In 2003, Christa had a successful season as a level eight. She placed in the top two in every competition that she has competed. She placed 2nd in the all-around at the WOGA Classic and Parkette Invitational. Christa then placed 1st in the all-around at the Metroplex Challenge. She also placed 2nd on vault and 1st on uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise. She dominated the Level eight State and Regional Championships where she placed 1st in the all-around and won gold medals on three events; uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise. Christa ended her season as a level 8 at the IG Hall of Fame. She placed 1st in the all-around. She also placed 1st on uneven bars and balance beam.

Christa skipped level nine, went ahead, and competed as a level ten in 2004. She placed 3rd in the all-around at the WOGA Classic. She won silver medals on vault and uneven bars. She repeated her results at the Metroplex Challenge and placed 1st in the all-around and earned silver medals on vault and uneven bars. She won gold medals on balance beam and floor exercise as well. Christa traveled to Florida and competed in the Presidential Classic. She placed 3rd in the all-around and 1st on uneven bars and floor exercise. At Level 10 State Championships, she placed 3rd in the all-around and 5th on her best event, uneven bars. It qualified her to Level 10 Regional Championships where she placed 17th in the all-around and 2nd on floor exercise.

In 2005, Christa decided to try to qualify to international elite. She competed at the WOGA Classic; however, she only did one event, uneven bars that she placed 4th out of 24 girls in the junior division. She then competed at the Metroplex Challenge and placed 4th on uneven bars and 2nd on floor exercise. Christa competed at her very first National meet at the US Classic. She placed 12th in the all-around and qualified to her first US National Championships. At the US Nationals, she placed 22nd in the all-around and 11th on floor exercise. At the end of season, Christa and her teammates from WOGA traveled to Russia for the Voronin Cup. She placed 13th in the all-around. She qualified to two event finals on balance beam and floor exercise where she won bronze medals on both events!

Christa began her second year as junior international elite at the WOGA Classic. She showed excellent results in the new code and competed against many other top gymnasts around the world including Russia, Japan, and Jamaica. She showed a nice routine on her best event, uneven bars. She placed 3rd on that event and placed 8th overall. Christa traveled to California with her teammates for AOGC Invitational. She placed 3rd all-around and earned two bronze medals on uneven bars and floor exercise. She also won a silver medal on balance beam. The next meet was the US Classic in Kansas City, MO where she placed 17th in the all-around and 8th on floor exercise. Christa qualified to the VISA Championships for the second time. At the VISA Championships in St. Paul, Minnesota, Christa showed very impressive results and placed 14th in the all-around. She also placed 13th on uneven bars and balance beam.

In 2007, Christa began her season at the Metroplex Challenge and placed 1st in the all-around, balance beam, and floor exercise. At the WOGA Classic, she had to withdraw from the meet on her last event, floor exercise, after she landed wrong on one of her passes. Lucky, it was nothing serious and she recovered quickly. At the American Classic at the National Training Center in Texas, Christa showed very impressive results. She placed 3rd in the all-around, 2nd on uneven bars and 4th on balance beam. She successfully qualified to her third VISA Championships. At the VISA Championships in St. Paul, California, she finished 12th in the all-around. She also placed 12th on uneven bars, 11th on balance beam, and 14th on floor exercise. She missed the US National Team by .15.

Christa started her 2008 season at the Metroplex Challenge where she won the all-around title and all four events. At the WOGA Classic, she placed 1st in the all-around and placed 2nd on floor exercise. The highlight from this meet was Christa's first nailed Yurchenko 1.5 off vault! In May, Christa and her elite teammates went to Texas Dreams Elite Qualifier in Coppell, Texas. Christa placed 9th in the all-around and qualified to her 4th VISA Championships. At the VISA Championships in Boston, MA, Christa had a bad start but finished strong by hitting last two events during prelims and went for 4 of 4 during finals. She finished 13th in the all-around and missed making the US National Team by .2 points.
