Courtney Dickerson was born on April 16, 2002, in Denver, CO to Henry and Faye Dickerson. She is an honor student attending Patriot High School where she is part of the AP Scholars program, member of the Beta Club, and will graduate in 2020.
Courtney’s mom and dad placed her into gymnastics, dance and swim classes to give her exposure at an early age. She began gymnastics at the age of four in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Courtney and her family relocated to Virginia in 2010. This is when she began training at Apollo Gymnastics in Woodbridge, VA and has been there since pre-team.
Courtney was the 2013 Level 5 State Vault Champion, 2014 Level 6 State All-Around and Floor Exercise Champion, 2016 Level 8 State Floor Exercise Champion, 2016 Level 8 Regional Floor Exercise Silver Medalist, 2017 Level 8 Vault and Floor Exercise Silver Medalist and 2017 Level 8 Regional All-Around Medalist. Courtney moved up to level 9 for the 2018 season where she placed third on floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 7 Championships, she finished sixth in the all-around and second on floor exercise. She qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals in Rochester, NY where she placed fourth on floor exercise.
As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2019, Courtney finished third in the all-around and fourth on uneven bars at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 7 Championships, finishing eighth on vault.
Courtney trains 29 hours per week at Apollo Gymnastics in Woodbridge, VA under coach Ken Anderson. When Courtney is not training in the gym, she enjoys hanging out with her friends and family, binge watching TV shows or movies, swimming and shopping. Courtney also coaches at Apollo Gymnastics.
