Dawsyn started gymnastics at the age of four with a tumbling class at a local YMCA. Her parents were looking for an activity that she might enjoy. A few months later the coaches at the Y suggested Dawsyn to try gymnastics. She started taking gymnastics classes at Legacy Gymnastics in Lexington, KY when she turned five years old in the summer. By the fall, Dawsyn had moved up three levels and was on the competition team. She competed level 3 in 2012, level 4 in 2013 and level 5 in 2014.

She skipped level 6 and quickly moved up to level 7 for the 2016 season. She earned gold medals on vault, floor exercise and in the all-around with a 38.000 at the Level 7 State Championships. In 2017, she qualified to the Region 5 Championships in level 8. Dawsyn competed level 9 for the next two seasons. At the 2018 State Championships, she placed second in the all-around and first on floor exercise. She qualified to the Region 5 Championships, finishing in the top ten in the all-around and fourth on floor exercise. In 2019, Dawsyn placed second on vault, balance beam and in the all-around at the State Championships, She qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals after finishing third in the all-around with a 37.675, first on balance beam and third on vault and floor exercise at the Region 5 Championships. At the Nationals in Kissimmee, FL, Dawsyn placed fifth on balance beam with a 9.475.

In 2020, Dawsyn qualified to the Level 10 State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, Dawsyn placed fourth in the all-around and first on floor exercise at the Level 10 State Championships. She qualified to the Region 5 Championships where she took home a silver medal on floor exercise.
