Devon Elizabeth Kiehne was born on September 10, 2000 in Plano, Texas to Richard and Dianne Kiehne. She is the youngest of four children where she has two older sisters, Rachel and Briana and an older brother, Daniel. Currently, Devon is an honor student at Jasper High School and she will graduate in 2018. During her spare time, she enjoys playing piano, baking, reading, dancing and hanging out with friends.
Devon began taking gymnastics classes for fun in 2003 when she was three years old. She has been training at World Olympic Gymnastics Academy (WOGA) in Plano, TX her whole gymnastics career. She had a successful level 5 season in 2009 where she placed first in the all-around at the North State Championships and second in the all-around and first on floor exercise at the State Championships. As a level 6 gymnast in 2010, Devon finished first in the all-around at the North State Championships and State Championships.
In 2012, Devon moved up to level 7. She placed fourth in the all-around and second on uneven bars at the State Championships. As a level 8 gymnast in 2013, Devon won the balance beam title with a 9.825 at the State Championships. She placed first on balance beam and fourth on floor exercise at the Region 3 Championships. Devon moved up to level 9 for the 2014 season. At the State Championships, she placed seventh in the all-around, first on balance beam and fourth on floor exercise. She placed third on floor exercise at the Region 3 Championships.
As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2015, Devon placed in the top ten on vault and floor exercise at the State Championships. She had a great meet at the Region 3 Championships where she finished fifth on balance beam, ninth on vault and tenth on floor exercise. In 2016, Devon finished eighth in the all-around and eighth on balance beam at the Region 3 Championships. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Ft. Worth, TX where she placed eighth on floor exercise out of 57 gymnasts. Devon was unable to compete in 2017 due to an injury.
Devon is preparing for the 2018 season as a level 10 gymnast. She trains 34 hours per week at World Olympic Gymnastics Academy in Plano, TX under coaches Janelle McDonald and Mila Grebenkova. She would like to obtain a Division I college gymnastics scholarship.
