Eliza Kate Greco was born on June 17, 2002 in Atlanta, GA. Her parents are Jim and LeighAnn Greco. She has an older sister, Anna and two crazy golden doodles named Zoe and Addie. Eliza is a student at North Oconee High School and will graduate in 2020. When Eliza has time outside of gymnastics, she enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with her friends.

Eliza’s career started when she attended a gymnastics camp when she was four. The counselors could not believe that she could do a pullover and urged her to give gymnastics a try. That fall she started her gymnastics career at Hammond Park in Georgia under Courtney Smith and Daniela Silivas. From 2011-2013, she trained at Northwind Gymnastics with Elena Piskun. When she was at Northwind, she finished fifth in the all-around and second on uneven bars at the 2012 Level 7 State Championships and qualified to Regionals. As a level 8 gymnast in 2013, Eliza placed third in the all-around with a 37.275 and third on uneven bars at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 8 Championships where she placed fifth in the all-around with a 37.525, fifth on floor exercise and sixth on uneven bars.

Following Eliza's level 8 season in 2013, she moved to Georgia Elite Gymnastics where she trained level 9 and elite under coach Pete Arenas. In the spring of 2014, Eliza competed level 9 and placed sixth in the all-around and third on vault at the State Championships. At the Region 8 Championships, she earned a silver medal on floor exercise. In the summer, she competed in the May Elite Qualifier at the National Training Center and won gold on vault. At the July Elite Qualifier, she won silver in vault, finished fourth in the all-around and qualified HOPES pre-elite. In August, she competed at the Secret U.S. Challenge in Chicago, placing 4th on vault.

In the fall of 2014, Eliza attended U.S. Developmental Training Camp. Although her training was hampered with injury, she competed at the Buckeye Elite Qualifier where she earned her compulsory score for HOPES. Eliza also competed at the AOGC Elite Qualifier, winning her compulsory session and getting her HOPES score again. Eliza also qualified to the Level 10 Region 8 Championships and finished 8th on vault.

In the summer of 2015, Eliza made the tough decision to move to Texas to train at Texas Dreams Gymnastics in Coppell, TX. Eliza was unable to compete in 2016 due to an injury but came back strong in 2017. She finished in the top ten in the all-around, first on floor exercise and fifth on vault at the Region 3 Championships. In June 2017, Eliza moved home to Georgia due to family reasons.

Eliza trains 28 hours each week under coaches Georgia Elite Gymnastics in Watkinsville, GA under coaches Pete Arenas, Cassidy McComb Bernstein, Amber Stiles and Doug McGavin. Eliza is working hard towards her goal to qualify as an elite gymnast.
