Ella Reese Jordan was born on March 22, 2004 in Alabama to Jake and Leslie Jordan. She has a younger sister, Mary Riley who is a gymnast at JamJev Gymnastics. Ella is homeschooled where she is part of Gifted Ed program. She will graduate from high school in 2022. When Ella has time outside of gymnastics, she enjoys hunting, fishing, shooting bow and reading.
Ella was a very active child where she was always climbing and flipping. Her parents decided to enroll her into gymnastics classes at the age of eight. Ella fell in love with the sport and quickly progressed in the sport.
After only three years of training, Ella was already competing level 7 in 2015. At the State Championships, Ella placed fourth in the all-around with a 37.050, first on floor exercise and third on uneven bars. She qualified to the Region 8 Championships. As a level 8 gymnast in 2016, Ella placed third in the all-around, first on vault and second on balance beam at the State Championships. She made the Level 8 Alabama State Team. At the Region 8 Championships, Ella finished 13th in the all-around with a 37.300 and ninth on vault scoring a 9.450.
Ella moved up to level 9 for the 2017 season. She placed fourth in the all-around, first on floor exercise and third on uneven bars at the State Championships. At the Region 8 Championships, Ella finished seventh in the all-around and third on floor exercise with a 9.500. She qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals in Lansing, MI where she placed eighth on floor exercise with a 9.400.
As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2018, Ella placed sixth in the all-around, second on floor exercise and third on uneven bars at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 8 Championships. In 2019, Ella placed third in the all-around with a 37.200 and first on floor exercise at the State Championships. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals after finishing sixth in the all-around and first on floor exercise at the Region 8 Championships.
Ella trains about 30 hours per week at JamJev Gymnastics in Bessemer, AL under coaches John Lowery, Dara Lowery and Brooke Leonard. Ella would like to obtain a Division I college gymnastics scholarship.
