Emily began gymnastics at the age of four at University of Gymnastics. Soon after, she followed her coach, Tatiana Schegolkova, to Eagle's Wings. In 2006, Emily competed as a level 5 gymnast. She finished second in the all-around as well as first on both balance beam and floor exercise at the Go For It Classic. She moved up to level six in the fall where she won a silver medal in the all-around at the Level 6 State Championships. She also finished second on balance beam and first on floor exercise.

In 2007, Emily moved up to level 7. She finished second on uneven bars, balance beam and in the all-around at the Sand Dollar Invitational. At the Texas Elite State Qualifier, she scored a perfect ten on balance beam! She also won floor exercise and the all-around. At the WOGA Classic, Emily finished second in the all-around as well as second on uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise. She then placed third overall at the Rose City Classic. At the IGHOF Invitational, she won a gold medal on floor exercise and finished fourth in the all-around.

In 2008, Emily won the all-around title at the Metroplex Challenge as a level 8 gymnast. She then traveled to California for the AOGC Invitational. There, she finished second on balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around. At the Rose City Classic, she placed third overall and first on vault. Emily finished tenth in the all-around and first on floor exercise at the Level 8 State Championships. There, she qualified to the Level 8 Regional Championships, where she finished seventh in the all-around.

Emily continued competing as a level 8 in 2009. She began her 2009 season at the Texas Prime Meet with four gold medals on vault, uneven bars, balance beam and in the all-around. At the WOGA Classic, Emily finished fourth overall, first on vault and second on balance beam. She won another all-around title at the Metroplex Challenge and California Classic. At the Rose City Classic, she finished second in the all-around and first on balance beam and floor exercise. Emily then placed third in the all-around at the Level 8 State Championships. At the Level 8 Regional Championships, she won the all-around title! In addition, she won two silver medals on uneven bars and floor exercise. After Emily's 2009 season, she began training at WOGA under coaches Laurent Landi and Natasha Boyarskaya.

In 2010, Emily moved up to level nine. She swept the gold medals at the Metroplex Challenge. At the WOGA Classic, she placed second in the all-around. She won vault and the all-around at the Pikes Peak Cup. At the Houston National Invitational, she won the vault and floor exercise titles. Emily then won the all-around, balance beam and floor exercise titles at the Level 9 State Championships. At the Level 9 Regional Championships, Emily finished first on vault, uneven bars, balance beam and the all-around. There, she qualified to the Level 9 Western National Championships in Des Moines, Iowa. There, she finished sixth in the all-around and first on uneven bars.

Emily moved up to level 10 in 2011. She started the season at the IGI Chicago Style where she finished third in the all-around and first on floor exercise. At the WOGA Classic, Emily placed fifth in the all-around and first on uneven bars. She then finished third overall at the Houston National Invitational. At the Level 10 State Championships, she earned a silver medal in the all-around and a gold medal on uneven bars. Emily placed first on balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around at the Level 10 Regionals. There, she qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals! She concluded her 2011 season at the JO Nationals where she placed 19th on floor exercise.

Currently, Emily trains nearly 32 hours a week at World Olympic Gymnastics Academy (WOGA) under coaches Laurent Landi and Natasha Boyarskaya. Emily is preparing for upcoming 2012 season as a level 10 gymnast where she hopes to have a successful season.

Emily Elizabeth Howe was born on January 19, 1997 to Mark and Jenny. She has an older sister, Jessica, who is also a gymnast. Currently, Emily is in 9th grade. During her spare time, she loves to read, go shopping, swimming and sleepovers with friends.
