Emma David was born on November 30, 2003 in New York to J.P. and Reina David. She has a younger brother, Jack and a dog named Gilly. Currently, Emma is an honor student at St. Anthony's High School and she will graduate in 2021. Emma enjoys surfing, playing the piano and playing with her dog, Gilly.

Emma's mom enrolled her into recreational classes when she was four years old because she had so much energy and never could sit still. She started her competitive gymnastics career at Hotshots East Gymnastics in Plainview, NY. As a level 5 gymnast in 2012, Emma placed second on floor exercise with a 9.525 and third on balance beam at the State Championships. Emma finished fourth on balance beam at the 2014 Level 7 State Championships and first on uneven bars with a 9.725 at the 2015 Level 7 State Championships.

In 2016, Emma moved up to level 8. She placed fourth in the all-around and second on uneven bars at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 6 Championships, finishing second on uneven bars. She qualified to the State Championships in 2017 but was unable to compete due to an injury. Following her 2017 season, Emma moved to Infiniti Elite Gymnastics in Syosset, NY.

Emma competed as a level 9 gymnast in 2018 where she placed first on vault and second on balance beam and in the all-around. She qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals after finishing fourth in the all-around and second on vault at the Region 6 Championships. In 2019, Emma placed second on uneven bars, balance beam and in the all-around with a 37.300 at the State Championships. At the Region 6 Championships, she finished third in the all-around and first on uneven bars. She qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals in Kissimmee, FL, finishing in the top ten in the all-around with a 37.100 and second on uneven bars.

Emma trains 20 hours per week at Infiniti Elite Gymnastics in Syosset, NY under coach Tammy Marshall. She is working hard to qualify to the Junior Olympic Nationals every year. Her long-term goal is to obtain a college gymnastics scholarship.
