Emma Lewis was born on October 4, 2002 in Kentucky to Mike and Elizabeth Lewis. She has two brothers, Nick and Alex and two dogs. Currently, Emma is a student at Forest Hills Central High School and she will graduate from high school in 2021. During Emma's spare time, she enjoys quilting, drawing and shopping.

Emma wanted to learn how to do cartwheel, so her parents enrolled her into gymnastics class so she wouldn't break her neck trying. She started her gymnastics career at Legacy All Sports in Lexington, KY when she was four years old in 2006. She competed level 3 in 2009, level 4 in 2010 and level 5 in 2011. As a level 6 gymnast in 2014, Emma placed fourth in the all-around and second on balance beam at the State Championships. Emma moved up to level 7 for the 2015 season, finishing first in the all-around, second on uneven bars and third on balance beam.

In 2016, Emma's family relocated to Michigan, so Emma started training at Gedderts’ Twistars USA in Lansing, MI. Emma had a great level 8 season in 2017 where she won the all-around title with a 37.325 at the State Championships. She also placed second on vault and balance beam and fourth on uneven bars. She qualified to the Region 5 Championships, finishing first in the all-around with a 38.025, first on vault and uneven bars and second on floor exercise. Emma moved up to level 9 for the 2018 season. At the Region 5 Championships, Emma finished seventh in the all-around and first on balance beam. She qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals in Rochester, NY where she placed in the top 15 in the all-around and seventh on balance beam. Emma was unable to compete most of the 2019 season due to a knee injury.

Emma qualified to the 2020 Level 10 State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic. Following her 2020 season, she began training at Ascend Gymnastics in Auburn, WA.

Emma trains 23-25 hours per week at Ascend Gymnastics in Auburn, WA under coaches Brett Wargo, Sara Korngold, Lauren Phelps and Chris Pitre. She is working hard to qualify to the Junior Olympic Nationals the next few years. Her long-term goal is to compete for a college gymnastics team.
