Welcome to the Official Website of Emma Slappey! Emma is a level 10 gymnast from Starlight Gymnastics in Jacksonville, Florida training under coaches Vessy Ivanov, Cheri Gillikin and Mila Marinova Harty.
Emma was the 2009 Level 8 Florida State Vault, Uneven Bars and All-Around Champion and 2009 Level 8 Regional Vault Champion. She also competed as a hopes pre-elite in 2009, finishing third in the all-around and second on vault at the US Challenge.
In 2010 as a first-year level 10 gymnast, she finished second on vault and floor exercise at the Level 10 Regionals, becoming the second alternate to the Junior Olympic Nationals. In 2011, Emma finished eighth in the all-around and third on balance beam at the Level 10 Regionals. She qualified to the JO Nationals, finishing 16th in the all-around and ninth on floor exercise. At the 2012 Level 10 State Championships, she earned silver medals on uneven bars and floor exercise. She was the 2012 Level 10 Regional Balance Beam, Floor Exercise and All-Around Champion, qualifying to her second JO Nationals in Hampton, VA. At the Nationals, she finished tenth in the all-around and fifth on balance beam. In 2013, Emma placed first on floor exercise and second on vault and uneven bars at the State Championships. At the Level 10 Regionals, she finished second in the all-around and first on floor exercise. Emma brought home a bronze medal on floor exercise at the JO Nationals and placed 15th overall.
