Erin Gentek was born on March 16, 1999 in Vorhees, NJ to Greg and Mary Jo Gentek. She has two brothers and a dog. Currently, Erin is a senior at Bishop Eustace Preparatory School and she will graduate from high school in 2017. Erin's cumulative GPA is a 3.4 and she is on Honor Roll.
Erin had too much energy as a child, so her mom decided to enroll her into gymnastics for fun. She started her gymnastics career at Beaches Gymnastics in jacksonville, FL. In the summer of 2010, Erin's family relocated to New Jersey, so Erin started training at Will-Moor School of Gymnastics.
As a level 8 gymnast in 2012, Erin earned a silver medal on floor exercise at the Pink Invitational. At the State Championships, she placed fifth on floor exercise. She moved up to level 9 for the 2013 season, but missed most of the season due to a broken ankle. In 2014, Erin placed fifth in the all-around and third on vault at the Level 9 State Championships. At the Region 7 Championships, she finished second on uneven bars and sixth on vault.
In 2015, Erin competed first-year level 10 where she placed in the top eight in the all-around at the State Championships. At the Region 7 Championships, she finished 11th in the all-around and qualified to the Junior Olympic NIT in Des Moines, IA. Erin missed 2016 season due to an injury.
Currently, Erin is preparing for the 2017 season as a level 10 gymnast. She trains 25 hours per week at Will-Moor School of Gymnastics in Mount Laurel, NJ under coaches Kim Bonus, Jeanne Kane and John Wilton. Erin would like to compete for a college gymnastics team.
