Giana's parents enrolled her into recreational classes after showing interest in tumbling when she was six years old in 2008. She was asked to join pre-team and started competing level 4 in 2010. At the 2010 Level 4 State Championships, she earned a bronze medal on floor exercise. As a level 6 gymnast in 2012, Giana finished eighth in the all-around and fifth on floor exercise at the State Championships.
In 2013 as a level 7 gymnast, Giana finished eighth in the all-around and fourth on balance beam at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 1 Championships where she placed fifth in the all-around with a 37.875, third on floor exercise and fourth on vault and balance beam. Giana moved up to level 8 for the 2014 season. She placed sixth in the all-around with a 37.650 and sixth on vault. At the Region 1 Championships, she finished fourth in the all-around with a 37.075, third on balance beam and fourth on vault.
As a first-year level 9 gymnast in 2015, Giana earned a gold medal and three silver medals on numerous events in first three meets. She was unable to compete rest of the season due to an injury. Giana continued competing level 9 in 2016 where she placed fourth in the all-around with a 37.550, third on balance beam and fourth on floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 1 Championships, she finished eighth in the all-around with a 37.200, second on floor exercise and fourth on uneven bars. Giana was an alternate for the Level 9 Western Nationals.
Giana moved up to level 10 for the 2017 season. She placed eighth in the all-around with a 36.525 and seventh on balance beam scoring a 9.325 at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 1 Championships where she finished tenth in the all-around with a 37.125, sixth on balance beam with a 9.475 and eighth on uneven bars with a 9.425.
Currently, Giana is preparing for the 2018 season as a level 10 gymnast. She trains 23 hours per week at Wildfire Gymnastics in Lake Forest, CA under coaches Rick Watson, Stephanie Calvert, Tom Wakeling, Whitney Dames and Hayley Watson. Giana is working hard to to become a successful level 10 gymnast, qualify to the Junior Olympic Nationals the next four years and to obtain a Division I college gymnastics scholarship.
