Hannah Shelton was born on August 1, 2005 in Virginia to Nicholas and Amy Shelton. She has a brother, Cole, a sister, Aubrey and two Labrador Retrievers named Bailey and Jules. Hannah is an honor student at Patriot High School and she will graduate in 2023. She is an AP Scholars student at Patriot High School. She is a member of National Honor Society. During Hannah's spare time, she enjoys art, interior design and babysitting.

Hannah started gymnastics when she was 2 1/2 years old in the Mommy and Me classes. She was a such a strong and fearless toddler. When she was four years old, Buckeye Gymnastics coaches suggested that she try out for team. She has been dedicated to gymnastics ever since. As a level 4 gymnast in 2015, Hannah placed fourth in the all-around with a 37.325 and third on vault at the State Championships. Hannah moved to Apollo Gymnastics in Woodbridge, VA in January 2016. In 2017 as a level 6 gymnast, Hannah finished second in the all-around with a 38.525 and first on vault and uneven bars at the State Championships. Hannah was named to America's Top 100 on uneven bars (3x) and in the all-around.

As a level 7 gymnast in 2018, Hannah finished third in the all-around with a 38.650 and first on uneven bars and balance beam at the State Championships. She was named to America's Top 100 on uneven bars and balance beam. Hannah moved up to level 8 for the 2019 season where she placed first on uneven bars and first in the all-around at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 7 Championships, finishing first on uneven bars and ninth in the all-around. In 2020, Hannah qualified to the Level 9 State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Hannah moved up to level 10 for the 2021 season. She finished fourth in the all-around and second on vault and floor exercise at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 7 Championships, finishing fifth on balance beam and eighth on floor exercise. In 2022, Hannah placed seventh in the all-around and seventh on balance beam at the State Championships and seventh on uneven bars at the Region 7 Championships.

Hannah trains around 25 hours per week at Apollo Gymnastics in Woodbridge, VA under coach Ken Anderson. Her long-term goal is to obtain a Division I college gymnastics scholarship.
