Hunter first started in dance class when she was four years old. While there, she saw others practicing gymnastics and Hunter decided she would like to try it. She started taking recreational gymnastics classes at Rockport Gymnastics in Rockport, TX and never looked back. Hunter has been training at Northwest Kids Sports Complex since 2010.

As a level 7 gymnast in 2011, Hunter finished seventh on uneven bars at the State Championships and represented Texas at the National Judges Cup. She moved up to level 8 for the 2012 season where she competed at the State Championships and Region 3 Championships. In 2013, Hunter continued competing level 8. She placed sixth in the all-around with a 37.625 and fourth on balance beam at the State Championships, qualifying to the Region 3 Championships.

Hunter moved up to level 9 in 2014 and 2015. She finished 11th in the all-around and seventh on uneven bars at the 2014 State Championships and qualified to the Region 3 Championships. In 2015, she placed fourth on uneven bars at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, Hunter finished sixth in the all-around and third on floor exercise. This qualified Hunter to the Level 9 Western Nationals in Spokane, WA where she placed in the top 20 in the all-around. Hunter was unable to compete in 2016 due to an injury.

Currently, Hunter is preparing for the 2017 season as a level 10 gymnast. She trains 24-30 hours per week at Northwest Kids Sports Complex in Corpus Christi, TX. Hunter is working hard to qualify to the Junior Olympic Nationals as well as to compete for a Division I college gymnastics team.
