Isabella Haba McNamara was born on May 4, 2002 in Texas to Maureen McNamara and John Haba. Bella is an honor student at Energy Institute High School (STEM Engineering Magnet) and she will graduate from high school in 2020. When she has time outside of gymnastics, she enjoys bike riding, art, music, swimming, hiking and paddle boarding. She also enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Neptune and Apollo and a cat named LuLu.

In August 2010, Bella went to parent's night out at Discover Gymnastics in Houston, TX with a friend and she was in love. The next day, Bella begged her mom to sign her up for classes. Very soon thereafter, a team coach, Haifa Abdullah, started tracking Bella and pulled her aside. Bella joined the team at the age of eight and progressed in the sport quickly. Her early and quick progress was largely due to Coach Haifa and Coach Daniel Waterson's very positive yet strict coaching style, and to Bella being very coachable.
