Jade Canady was born on March 10, 2002 in Huntersville, NC to Rocky and Andrea Canady. She has three sisters, Grace, Morgan and Erin, three cats and a dog. Currently, Jade is an honor student at Pine Lake Preparatory and she will graduate from high school in 2020. When Jade has time outside of gymnastics, she enjoys volunteering at Animal Rescues, art, swimming, reading and watching movies.
Jade loved tumbling and hanging from the bars. She started at The Little Gym when she was 18 months old and started competitive gymnastics in 2009 at seven years old. Jade began training at Everest Gymnastics in Huntersville, NC after her 2011 season and she improved tremendously ever since. At the 2012 Level 5 State Championships, she finished second in the all-around and first on vault and floor exercise. She placed in the top ten in the all-around, first on vault and second on balance beam and floor exercise at the 2013 Level 5 State Championships. During Jade's final level 5 season in 2014, she placed second in the all-around, first on floor exercise and second on vault at the State Championships.
In 2015, Jade skipped level 6 and started competing level 7. She placed first in the all-around with a 38.100 and first on uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 8 Championships, finishing ninth in the all-around with a 38.050, third on vault and fifth on balance beam and floor exercise. Jade helped the North Carolina team to place first at Regionals. After a great level 7 season in 2015, she quickly moved up to level 8 for the 2016 season. She grabbed gold medals on uneven bars, floor exercise and in the all-around and a silver medal on balance beam at the State Championships. At the Region 8 Championships, Jade finished second in the all-around with a 37.500, second on floor exercise and third on vault.
Currently, Jade is preparing for the 2017 season as a level 9 gymnast. She trains 25 hours per week at Everest Gymnastics in Huntersville, NC under coaches Biyu Sun, Nikolai Cherchen and Yiwen Chen. Jade's long-term goal is to compete for a college gymnastics team.
