Biography : Jessica's Favorites

Jessica began gymnastics with the City of Plano Recreation Department at the age of four. She made the Gold Team at Plano Aerobats at the age of seven. She competed as a level four in TAAF. There, she qualified to the State Championships.

Following the season, she decided to move to University of Gymnastics for more serious training. After four months of training, she competed as a level 5 gymnast. She finished third in the all-around at the North State Meet. Following this meet, she followed her coach Tatiana Schegolkova to Eagle's Wings. She tied for third in the all-around at the Level 5 State Championships.

Jessica competed one meet as a level six before moving up to level seven. She qualified for the North State Meet in the silver division. She ended her season by winning balance beam and the all-around at the 2005 Texas State Meet in the silver division. Jessica moved up to level eight for the 2006 season. She won the floor exercise title and finished second in the all-around at the Kurt Thomas Invitational. At the Go For It Classic, she won balance beam. At the Level 8 State Championships, Jessica finished first in the all-around and second on uneven bars. She ended her season by winning balance beam and the all-around at the Level 8 Regional Championships. In the fall, she qualified for the National TOPs Team.

In 2007, Jessica competed level nine. She finished second in the all-around and first on balance beam and floor exercise at the Texas Elite State Qualifier. At the Metroplex Challenge, she finished third on vault, balance beam and first on floor exercise. Jessica then won the all-around title at the Rose City Classic. At the Level 9 Regional Championships, she finished second in the all-around. She ended her season by finishing ninth in the all-around and first on floor exercise at the Level 9 western National Championships.

She continued competing level nine in 2008. She won balance beam, floor exercise and the all-around at the AOGC Invitational in California. At the Rose City Classic, she finished second overall and first on floor exercise. Jessica placed fourth in the all-around and first on balance beam at the Level 9 State Championships. At the Regional Championships, she won floor exercise and finished sixth all-around. There, she qualified to her second Level 9 western Nationals. At the Western Nationals, she won the all-around title as well as third on balance beam and floor exercise.

Jessica moved up to level ten in 2009. She opened her season by winning uneven bars and balance beam at the Texas Prime Meet. At the WOGA Classic, she won her only event, uneven bars. She finished fourth in the all-around at the Metroplex Challenge and fifth in the all-around at the California Classic. Jessica then won balance beam, floor exercise and the all-around at the Rose City Classic. At the Level 10 State Championships, she placed third in the all-around, uneven bars and balance beam. Jessica then won a silver medal in the all-around as well as two gold medals on uneven bars and balance beam. There, she qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Seattle, Washington. At the JO Nationals, Jessica finished seventh in the all-around and third on balance beam. Following the conclusion of the season, Jessica moved to WOGA.

In 2010, Jessica began her season at the Metroplex Challenge where she won everything including the all-around title. At the WOGA Classic, Jessica finished second in the all-around as well as first on vault, uneven bars and balance beam. She then finished second on vault and fourth on uneven bars at the Pikes Peak Cup. At the Houston National Invitational, Jessica placed third overall and first on balance beam. At the Level 10 State Championships, she finished third in the all-around, first on vault and third on floor exercise. At the Level 10 Regional Championships, Jessica finished second in the all-around, third on vault, first on balance beam and floor exercise. She qualified to the JO Nationals for the second time in Dallas, Texas. At the JO Nationals, Jessica won the all-around title! In addition, she won two silver medals on vault and balance beam and a gold medal on floor exercise.

Jessica started her 2011 season at the IGI Chicago Style and placed third on vault. A few weeks later, she passed compulsories, a portion of the elite testing at the WOGA National Elite Qalifier. In March, Jessica helped the WOGA team to win the team title where she scored a 9.9 on vault! At the Disney National Elite Qualifier in Florida, Jessica qualified to international elite status after placing second in the all-around. Jessica did really well at the American Classic where she placed second in the all-around and first on floor exercise and qualified to her first VISA Championships in St. Paul, MN. In July, Jessica traveled to Chicago, IL for the US Covergirl Classic and finished in the top ten on balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around. She concluded her 2011 season at the VISA Championships where she placed 12th overall.

Currently, Jessica trains 36 hours per week at World Olympic Gymnastics Academy (WOGA) under coaches Valeri Liukin and Natalya Marakova. She is preparing for the upcoming 2012 season.

Jessica Elizabeth Howe was born on April 22, 1995 in Laguna Hills, California to Mark and Jenny Howe. She has a younger sister, Emily, who is also a gymnast. Currently, Jessica is in 11th grade at A Beka Acadamy Homeschooling. During Jessica's spare time, she likes to go shopping, swimming, reading and hanging out with her friends.
