When Jessica was five years old, a family friend suggested that Jessica should start taking tumbling classes. She quickly progressed in gymnastics and started competing as a level 5 gymnast in 2005. She won five gold medals at the 2nd Prelim. She placed second in the all-around at the Butterfly Classic and fifth in the all-around at the East Sectionals. At the Level 5 State Championships, she finished fourth in the all-around and third on balance beam.

In 2006, Jessica moved up to level 6 and finished third in the all-around at the 1st Prelim. She placed second in the all-around at both 2nd Prelim and East Sectional Meet. At the Level 6 State Championships, she finished third on uneven bars and fifth in the all-around. Jessica made the National TOPs Team in the fall. In 2007, she made her second National TOPs Team.

Jessica began competing as a level 8 gymnast in 2008. She won the balance beam title at the IGHOF Invitational. She finished third in the all-around at the Heart of a Champion Invitational. At the American Kids Cup, she won the uneven bars title. Jessica finished second in the all-around at the Level 8 State Championships. At the Level 8 Regionals, she finished third in the all-around, fourth on vault and first on balance beam. She made her third National TOPs Team in the fall.

Jessica started her 2009 season as a level 9 gymnast at the Surf City Classic where she won the balance beam and floor exercise titles. She finished second in the all-around at the AOGC Invitational. She won five gold medals at the Long Beach Open. At the Glider's Invitational, she finished third in the all-around. Jessica placed in the top ten at the State and Regional Championships. She later qualified to junior pre-elite, placing third overall at the US Challenge. In December, Jessica was named to the National Team Training Squad.

In 2010, Jessica finished fifth in the all-around at both San Diego Classic and Malibu Coast Challenge as a level 10 gymnast. She qualified to junior international elite as well as to the VISA Championships after placing third in the all-around and first on uneven bars at the Arizona National Elite Qualifier. In July at the US Covergirl Classic in Chicago, IL, she finished 28th in the all-around and 18th on uneven bars. A few weeks later, she traveled to Hartford, CT for the VISA Championships.

Currently, Jessica trains about 30 hours per week at Winners Gymnastics under coaches Wei Zhang and Eva Wang. She is preparing for the upcoming 2012 season as a junior international elite gymnast.

Jessica Wang was born on June 1, 1997 in Arcadia, California. She is the oldest of two children to Dong and Nancy Wang. Currently, she is in eighth grade at Ayala Middle School.
