Julianna began gymnastics when she was two years old at Rebound Gymnastics. Her mom, Dulce, coached her when she was a level four and five. She competed as a level four in 2005. She finished sixth in the all-around as well as fourth on uneven bars and floor exercise at the Maryland Classic. At the Level 4 State Championships, she finished third on balance beam, second on floor exercise as well as second in the all-around.
In 2006, Julianna moved up to level five. She finished first on balance beam and second on uneven bars, floor exercise and the all-around at the Friendship Classic. At the Level 5 State Championships, she finished fourth in the all-around. She also placed fourth on vault and balance beam. Later that fall, Julianna moved up to level six. She finished second in the all-around at the November Sectional. At the Rutgers Classic, she won uneven bars, floor exercise and the all-around titles.
At the 2007 Level 6 State Championships, Julianna won balance beam, floor exercise and the all-around titles. Her floor score set a new state record. A few months later, she began competing level seven. She competed at the Friendship Classic. In the late fall, she placed second in the all-around at the Black Eyed Susan Invitational. She also made the TOPs National "B" Team that fall. In January 2008, she won the all-around and floor titles at the Level 7 State Championships. Julianna set another new state record on floor exercise. She also placed second on balance beam and third on vault.
Julianna quickly moved into level eight competition in 2008. At the Level 8 State Championships, she finished seventh in the all-around and fourth on floor exercise. She qualified for the Level 8 Regional Championships. In the fall, she won the Ready Set Go! competition. At the Christmas City Classic, Julianna finished second on floor exercise and third in the all-around. She made her second TOPs National "B" Team in the fall.
In 2009, Julianna finished third on uneven bars and second on balance beam at the WOGA Classic as a level 8. She then moved up to level nine and won balance beam and floor exercise titles at the Parkette Invitational. At the Level 9 State Championships, Julianna placed 10th in the all-around and 3rd on vault. She finished third on balance, second on floor exercise and seventh in the all-around at the Level 9 Regional Championships, becoming the alternate for the Eastern Championships. At the Parkette Elite Qualifier, Julianna placed first in the all-around as well as first on vault, balance beam and floor exercise. There, she qualified to hopes pre-elite. At the US Challenge in Des Moines, Iowa, Julianna finished 20th in the all-around and 14th on balance beam. In the end of September, Julianna made the TOPs National "A" Team.
Julianna moved up to level 10 in 2010. She won the all-around title at the Color Games Invitational. At the Sand Dollar Invitational, she placed fifth in the all-around and fourth on floor exercise. On the next day, she competed in an elite qualifier, where she placed ninth overall. Julianna placed fourth in the all-around and fourth on balance beam at the Buckeye Elite Qualifier. A day later, she placed fifth on balance beam and tenth in the all-around in the level 10 division. At the Level 10 Regional Championships, Julianna placed 11th in the all-around. There, she was invited to compete in the Junior Olympic National Invitational Tournament, where she finished tenth in the all-around, second on balance beam and seventh on uneven bars. Julianna then traveled to Florida for another elite qualifier, where she won the all-around title! She also first on uneven bars and floor exercise and second on vault and balance beam. Julianna concluded her 2010 season at the US Challenge, where she finished fourth in the all-around. After Julianna's 2010 season ended, she began training at Monmouth Gymnastics Academy.
She started her 2011 season by winning the all-around title at the first three competitions, Barb Knothe Invitational, Starstruck Invitational and Parkette Invitational. In February, she traveled to Dallas, Texas for the WOGA Elite Qualifier. There, she placed sixth in the all-around and fourth on balance beam and floor exercise. At the Level 10 State Championships, she placed first on uneven bars and in the all-around. Julie then placed fourth in the all-around as well as third on balance beam and fourth on floor exercise at the Level 10 Regionals. There, she qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals where she placed 27th in the all-around and 10th on balance beam out of 57 gymnasts.
Julianna is a junior pre-elite gymnast training at Monmouth Gymnastics Academy under coach Maggie Haney. She is training for the upcoming 2012 season where she hopes to qualify to junior international elite.
