Julia Volpe was born on May 2, 2001 in Texas to Bob and Karen Volpe. She has four sisters, Amelia, Sophia, Tessa and Eva and a dog named Daisy. Two of her sisters, Tessa and Eva are also gymnasts at Pearland Elite Training Center. Currently, Julia is an honor student at Pearland High School and she will graduate from high school in 2019. Julia is a member of National Honor Society, National Science Honor Society and Thrive Student Ministries.

Julia knew that she always wanted to be a gymnast and she begged and begged her mom to enroll her in classes. Julia's mom finally gave in and enrolled her into gymnastics when she was seven years old. Julia has been training at Pearland Elite Training Center in Pearland, TX most of her gymnastics career. Julia competed level 5 in 2010 and level 6 in 2011. As a level 7 gymnast in 2013, Julia placed ninth in the all-around with a 37.550, sixth on balance beam with a 9.475 and sixth on floor exercise scoring a 9.575 at the State Championships.

In 2014, Julia moved up to level 8 where she qualified to the State Championships and Region 3 Championships. As a level 9 gymnast in 2015, she placed eighth in the all-around, sixth on balance beam and seventh on floor exercise at the Region 3 Championships. She qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals in Spokane, WA. Julia continued competing level 9 in 2016. At the State Championships, she placed fifth on vault with a 9.350. Julia did really well at the Region 3 Championships where she placed third in the all-around, fourth on floor exercise with a 9.600 and fifth on vault scoring a 9.325. She qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals in Montana where she placed eighth on vault with a 9.525.

As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2017, Julia finished second on floor exercise with a 9.475 and sixth on vault scoring a 9.375 at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 3 Championships.

Julia trains 30 hours per week at Pearland Elite Training Center under coaches Tasha Beale, Nick Cedillo and Tony Pineda. She would like to qualify to the Junior Olympic Nationals and to obtain a college gymnastics scholarship.
