Kaitlyn Yvette Ayrton was born on August 31, 1995 in Aurora, Colorado to Tim and Gini Ayrton. Kaitlyn has two brothers, John and Nick. John is currently in the US Navy. Kaitlyn is a junior at Vines High School and will graduate in 2013. During her spare time, she likes to go shopping and to the movies with her friends.

When Kaitlyn was three years old, she had so much energy she climbed on furniture and her dad. Her parents decided to put her into gymnastics. A year later Kaitlyn's family moved to Georgia. There, she began competing with Cartersville Twisters. While she was there, she won the state vault title in level four. As a level five, Kaitlyn won the state uneven bars title. At the beginning of her level six season she moved to Texas to train at WOGA. At the 2005 Excalibur Cup, she finished second in the all-around as well as first on uneven bars and floor exercise as a level six. As a level eight in 2007, she finished second in the all-around at the Rose City Classic.
In July of 2007, Kaitlyn moved to Zenith Elite Gymnastics in McKinney, Texas. As a level nine in 2008, she finished second in the all-around at the Sand Dollar Classic. She won a silver medal on vault and a gold medal on floor exercise. At the Texas Prime Meet, she won vault, balance beam, floor exercise and the all-around titles. This qualified her for the Legendz Classic. She was on Team Phelps. At the Kurt Thomas Invitational, Kaitlyn placed fifth in the all-around. She qualified to finals where she scored a 38.5 all-around. She then finished second in the all-around at the Zenith Spring Invitational. At the Level 9 State Championships, she finished third on uneven bars. Kaitlyn was the first alternate to Level 9 Western Championships.

Kaitlyn started her 2009 season as a level 10 at the State Qualifier. There, she finished second in the all-around and first on floor exercise. At the Texas Prime Meet, Kaitlyn won the all-around title as well as a gold medal on floor exercise. Kaitlyn then finished fourth in the all-around at the Rose City Classic. At the Level 10 State Championships, she finished 16th in the all-around and 8th on floor exercise. Kaitlyn concluded her 2009 season at the Level 10 Regional Championships in Denver, Colorado. Kaitlyn moved to Elite Champion right after the 2009 season.
In 2011, Kaitlyn started her season at both Tiger Classic and Space City Classic. At the Texas Prime Meet, she finished fifth in the all-around, second on balance beam and third on floor exercise. There, she qualified to the Legendz Classic. At the Level 10 State Championships, she placed 14th in the all-around and seventh on floor exercise. She concluded her 2011 season at the Level 10 Regionals, where she finished 16th in the all-around and seventh on vault.
Currently, Kaitlyn is training at Elite Champion Gymnastics under coaches Marcus Harlin and Tammy De Guzman. Kaitlyn is training for upcoming 2012 season and hopes to have a successful season as a level 10 gymnast. Her long-term goal is to receive a college scholarship.
