When Kara was four years old, she was enrolled in tap, ballet and recreational class. She hated tap and ballet but loved gymnastics! The gym coaches invited Kara to join the team and has been there ever since. Kara has been training at North East Texas Elite Gymnastics in Texarkana, TX her whole gymnastics career.
Kara qualified to the State Championships in level 5 in 2009 and level 6 in 2010. She competed level 7 for the next three seasons. She qualified to the State Championships in 2012 and 2013. As a third-year level 7 gymnast in 2014, Kara finished seventh in the all-around with a 36.925 and first on balance beam at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 3 Championships where she placed third in the all-around with a 36.850 and first on vault and balance beam.
In 2015, Kara competed in level 8 where she won the balance beam title with a 9.825 at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, Kara finished third on balance beam with a 9.625 and eighth on floor exercise scoring a 9.550. Kara moved up to level 9 for the 2016 season, finishing second on balance beam and sixth on vault at the State Championships. She continued competing level 9 in 2017 where she placed first on floor exercise with a 9.500 at the Metroplex Challenge. At the State Championships, she placed finished fourth on vault and floor exercise.
Currently, Kara is preparing for the 2018 season as a level 9/10 gymnast. She trains 29 hours per week at North East Texas Elite Gymnastics in Texarkana, TX under coaches Lloyd & Amy White and Kory White Pemberton. Her long-term goal is to compete for a Division I college gymnastics team.
