Katelyn Moves to WOGA

Katelyn moved to World Olympic Gymnastics Academy (WOGA) in Plano, Texas. She will be training with Valeri Liukin and Natalya Marakova. Basic information has been updated throughout the website. Many new pictures and videos have been updated from the 2009 VISA Championships.

Katelyn Makes the US National Team
August 15, 2009
Congratulations Katelyn: 2009-2010 Junior US National Team Member! Katelyn's first VISA Championships concluded today in Dallas, Texas. She did really well today and she improved her all-around score from 54.350 (prelims) to 55.000 (finals). She finished 10th in the all-around, sixth on balance beam and second on floor exercise. Katelyn, along with top 10 juniors, made the Junior US National Team. Good job Katelyn! Full results from today have been posted. New pictures and videos from the meet will be coming soon.

14th AA after Prelims in Dallas
August 13, 2009
Katelyn just finished competing the first day of the Junior VISA Championships in Dallas, Texas. Right now, she is 14th in the all-around out of 31 gymnasts. Katelyn's best performances came on balance beam and floor exercise. She did a nice routine on balance beam scoring a 14.2. She concluded her competition on floor exercise, where she placed third with a 14.15. Congratulations on a great preliminary round! Katelyn will continue her competition during the finals on Saturday at 1:00 PM CST. Full results have been posted.

Good Luck in Dallas

Katelyn's first VISA Championships will begin this week! The first day of competition will be on Thursday, August 13 at 1:00 PM CST. She will be sixth person to go on vault during the first rotation. The second day will be on Saturday, August 15 at 1:00 PM CST. On that day, she will be third person to go on uneven bars during the first rotation. Katelyn will need to place in the top ten to make the Junior US National Team. Good luck Katelyn!

USA Gymnastics, International Gymnast, and Inside Gymnastics will provide live scoring, news, pictures, etc during the VISA Championships. We will do our best to keep Katelyn's website updated as soon as we get news and results.

US Classic Results
July 25, 2009
Katelyn competed at the US Classic this afternoon. She finished eighth all-around with a 55.050. She placed second on floor with a 14.300 and fifth on beam with a 14.050. Katelyn easily qualified to the VISA Championships in Dallas, Texas. To find more information about this competition, please visit the USAG website.

Good Luck at US Classic

Katelyn will be competing at the US Classic next weekend on July 25 in Des Moines, Iowa. She will be competing in the junior session at 1:00 p.m. at the Vets Auditorium. Katelyn needs to score at least a 52 in the all-around to qualify to the VISA Championships in Dallas, Texas. To find more information about this competition, please visit the USAG website.

Katelyn Qualifies to US Classic
June 20, 2009
Katelyn just finished competing at the 2009 Parkette Elite Qualifier today. She did really well, where she finished second in the all-around with a 54.050 in the first session. She started strong on floor exercise with a clean routine scoring a 13.7 for a third place. She then placed 8th on vault and 12th on uneven bars. On Katelyn's last event, she did an outstanding routine scoring a 14.35 and won that event. Katelyn qualified to junior international elite and to the 2009 US Classic, a qualifier to VISA Championships. Congratulations Katelyn! Full results have been posted.

2009 JO National Team Member
May 16, 2009
Currently, Katelyn is in Puyallup, Washington for the 2009 Junior Olympic Nationals. She started on floor exercise and finished first place with a 9.6. She then scored a 9.55 and 9.425 on vault and uneven bars respectively. Katelyn was leading during first three rotations until her last event, balance beam. She fell on her Humphrey turn in the beginning of routine. She finished fourth in the all-around with a 37.575 as a junior A and made the JO National Team. Congratulations Katelyn! 2009 Level 10 Regional Floor Champion

Earlier today at the 2009 Region 4 Championships in Wisconsin, Katelyn won a silver medal in the all-around with a 37.300. She won a gold medal on floor exercise with a 9.7 as well as two more medals on uneven bars and balance beam. Katelyn qualified to Junior Olympic Nationals in Washington. Congratulations Katelyn! Level 10 State Champion
April 4, 2009
Katelyn competed last night at the Level 10 State Championships in Columbia, Missouri. She won the all-around title with a 38.100. She also won vault, uneven bars and balance beam socring 9.475, 9.5 and 9.675 respectively. Good job Katelyn! Full results have been posted. Katelyn will travel to Janesville, WI for the Level 10 Regoinals in two weeks.

Katelyn's Website Released

Katelyn Ohashi's website has been released! Katelyn is a 11-year-old level 10 and junior pre-elite gymanst who trains at the GAGE in Blue Springs, Missouri. Katelyn's last competition was the 2009 Palm Beach Invitational where she finished first in the all-around in compulsory. On the next day, she placed second on balance beam and floor exercise in optionals. There, she qualified to junior pre-elite!
