In 2007, when Kelly was about two and half years old, her mom put Kelly in gymnastics classes, starting with the mom and tot class. She fell in love with the sport and she has been doing it ever since. She was the 2012 Level 4 IL State Floor Exercise Champion, 2014 Level 6 IL State Balance Beam Silver Medalist, 2015 Level 8 Regional Qualifier and 2016 Level 8 Regional Qualifier.
In 2018, Kelly placed first on floor exercise and second in the all-around with a 37.500 at the State Championships. She qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals in Rochester, NY after finishing fourth in the all-around with a 37.475 and second on uneven bars at the Region 5 Championships. At the Nationals, Kelly finished in the top 10 in the all-around. Kelly had another great season in 2019 where she grabbed gold medals on balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around with a 38.250 at the State Championships. She qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals again after finishing fourth in the all-around with a 37.475 and third on uneven bars at the Region 5 Championships. She was unable to compete at Nationals due to an injury. Kelly was named to America's Top 100 on uneven bars in 2018 and in the all-around in 2019.
Kelly qualified to the 2020 Level 10 State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic.
When Kelly is not training over 20 hours each week in the gym, she enjoys hanging out with her friends, watching Netflix, traveling and hiking. She is also involved in her church's youth group. Kelly is a straight A student at Hinsdale Central High School where she is on Dean's List and Honor Roll.
