Kennedy Loren Evans was born on September 25, 1997 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Bruce and Aimee. She has an older brother, Elliott (15) and a younger sister, Brennen (10). Currently, she is in eighth grade at Templeton Middle School. Kennedy earned Wall of Fame awards for 4.0 GPA every quarter since sixth grade.
At the age of two, Kennedy started tumbling and doing cartwheels around the house and would not stop. It drove everyone nuts so Kennedy's parents decided to put her into gymnastics. Ever since she has done nothing but gymnastics! At the beginning of Kennedy's gymnastics career, she trained at Midwest Twisters until April 2008.
Kennedy was the 2005 Level 4 State Champion on uneven bars and floor exercise. She competed as a level 7 gymnast in 2008 and level 8 in 2009. In 2009, Kennedy finished third in the all-around at both the Daytona Beach Open and Harley Invitational. She won the uneven bars title at the OGC Invitational. She finished second in the all-around at the Level 8 State Championships. At the Level 8 Regionals, Kennedy placed second on floor exercise, fourth on uneven bars and sixth in the all-around. Kennedy was a member of the Super 8 Wisconsin Regional Team.
In 2010, Kennedy moved up to level 9. She placed first on uneven bars, balance beam and in the all-around at the Midwest Challenge. Kennedy won uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise and the all-around at the IGI Chicago Style. Kennedy placed third in the all-around at the Circle of Stars. She won the balance beam title at the Harley Invitational. At the Level 9 State Championships, she finished first on uneven bars and second in the all-around. Kennedy qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals after finishing second on balance beam, third on uneven bars and fifth in the all-around at the Level 9 Regionals. At the Nationals, she placed third on uneven bars and 14th all-around.
Kennedy started her 2011 season as a level 10 gymnast at the Team Spirit Invitational where she placed fourth in the all-around and second on vault. She finished first on uneven bars and in the all-around at the Circle of Stars. At the Wisconsin Dells Vacation Classic, Kennedy finished first in the all-around as well as second on balance beam and floor exercise. She placed 14th overall at the IGI Chicago Style and second overall at the Harley Davidson Invitational. She traveled to Florida for the Tim Rand Invitational and finished fifth in the all-around. At the Level 10 State Championships, Kennedy won a bronze medal on uneven bars and in the all-around. In addition, she won a silver medal on balance beam. She placed seventh in the all-around and fourth on floor exercise at the Level 10 Regionals. There, she qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Long Beach, California. Kennedy concluded her 2011 season at the JO Nationals where she placed 25th in the all-around, 18th on uneven bars and 17th on floor exercise out of 57 gymnasts.
In 2012, Kennedy earned gold medals on balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around at the Island Adventure. At the Sand Dollar Invitational in Orlando, Florida, she placed fourth on floor exercise. Kennedy then traveled to Chicago, IL for the IGI Chicago Style where she placed fifth in the all-around as well as third on balance beam and floor exercise. At the Salto Invitational, she placed third on vault and fifth on balance beam. Kennedy did really well at the Level 10 State Championships, finishing first on vault, uneven bars, balance beam and in the all-around. At the Level 10 Regionals, she finished sixth in the all-around and second on balance beam and floor exercise, qualifying to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Hampton, VA.
Currently, Kennedy is preparing for upcoming 2013 season as a level 10 gymnast. She trains about 28.5 hours per week at LaFleur's Gymnastics in Wisconsin under coaches Taylor Ames and Greg LaFleur. Kennedy is also training to become an elite gymnast. Her long-term goal is to receive a college scholarship to a Division I school.
