Kennedy Elise Hambrick was born on January 30, 2000 in The Woodlands, Texas to Robert and Julie Hambrick. She has a brother, Easton and a dog. Currently, Kennedy is a junior at Glenda Dawson High School and she will graduate in 2018.
Kennedy's parents enrolled her into gymnastics for fun at the age of three at a local gym. She started her competitive gymnastics career at Reflex Gymnastics Academy and has been there ever since!
Kennedy competed as a level 7 gymnast in 2009 and 2010. She qualified to the State Championships in 2009 and she placed fourth on balance beam and ninth overall at the 2010 State Championships.
Kennedy skipped level 8 and quickly moved up to level 9 for the 2011 season where she qualified to the Region 3 Championships. In 2012, Kennedy finished fourth on uneven bars at the State Championships and qualified to the Region 3 Championships. In 2013, Kennedy did really well at the State Championships where she finished fifth int he all-around and fifth on uneven bars and balance beam. At the Region 3 Championships, Kennedy placed 13th in the all-around and eighth on uneven bars. She was the first alternate for the Level 9 Western Nationals.
Kennedy moved up to level 10 in 2014. Kennedy placed in the top 15 in the all-around and placed ninth on uneven bars in a very tough group of competitors at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, she finished ninth in the all-around, first on floor exercise and seventh on balance beam. She was the first alternate for the Junior Olympic Nationals and was invited to compete at the Junior Olympic NIT in Jackson, MS.
In 2015, Kennedy finished second in the all-around with a 38.475 and second on uneven bars at the State Championships. She placed third in the all-around, first on floor exercise and fifth on balance beam at the Region 3 Championships. This qualified Kennedy to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Des Moines, IA where she placed seventh on floor exercise. In 2016, Kennedy finished sixth in the all-around, second on vault and third on floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, she placed second in the all-around, second on floor exercise and fourth on vault. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Ft. Worth, TX.
Kennedy finished sixth in the all-around with a 37.625 and second on vault and balance beam at the 2017 State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, she placed first in the all-around with a 38.050 and firs ton uneven bars and balance beam. Kennedy qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Indianapolis, IN where she placed seventh on vault with a 9.725 out of 57 gymnasts.
Currently, Kennedy is preparing for the 2018 season as a level 10 gymnast. She trains 24 hours per week at Reflex Gymnastics Academy in Pearland, TX under coaches Tyler Holmes, Tami Jaso, Tony Pineda, RJ Heflin and Casey Simmons. Her long-term goal is to obtain a college scholarship to a Division 1 school.
