Kourtney Lind Chinnery was born on May 11, 2000 in Norfolk, VA to Drs. Lind and Debra Chinnery. She has two siblings, Denisha and Dwain and a dog named Eli Shiloh. Kourtney has dual citizenship in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) and during her spare time she enjoys swimming in the beautiful islands of Jost Van Dyke and St Thomas, USVI. She also enjoys going to the movies with friends and family, skating and designing clothes.

Kourtney had her first gymnastics class at Gymnastics Inc. at fifteen months old. She began a Tumble Tots class and after the age of two, she was enrolled in the Tumble Bugz classes. She went to the gym every Friday for 35 minutes. The School Fundamentals: Early Beginnings that Kourtney went to fostered a contract with the club and the parents of the children for participation gymnastics. Kourtney has been in gymnastics since this time. At the beginning of Kourtney's gymnastics career, she trained under coaches Lindsey Princess LaRoche and Nick Griffith.

As a level 6 gymnast in 2008, Kourtney won all five gold medals at the State Championships. She quickly competed level 7 and moved into level 8 competition in 2009. At the 2009 State Championships, she finished third in the all-around. After her level 8 season, Kourtney started training at Gymstrada Gymnastics School where she trained under coaches Elena Svetiev and Randy Church.

As a level 9 gymnast in 2010, Kourtney finished third on vault at the Turkey Tumble Invitational. At the Virginia Beach Classic, she won the vault title. She placed fourth on floor exercise and eighth in the all-around at the Excalibur Cup. Kourtney earned a bronze medal on floor exercise at the Charleston Cup. At the State Championships, she placed third in the all-around.

Kourtney continued competing level 9 for the 2011 season. She finished third on uneven bars and in the all-around. At the New Year Opener, she placed second in the all-around and first on uneven bars and floor exercise. She finished first on uneven bars, third on floor exercise and sixth in the all-around at the Excalibur Cup. At the Nation's Capital Cup, she finished fourth in the all-around and third on uneven bars. Kourtney grabbed silver medals on all four events and in the all-around. She had a great meet at the Region 7 Championships where she finished second in the all-around with a 37.275, first on floor exercise and second on uneven bars. She qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals where she placed eighth in the all-around and first on vault.

In 2012, Kourtney started her level 10 season at the Rocking Rudolph Invitational, finishing first on vault, uneven bars, floor exercise and in the all-around. At the Lady Luck Invitational, she placed second on vault and fourth on floor exercise. She earned a bronze medal on vault at the Parkettes Invitational. At the National Gymnastics Challenge, Kourtney placed third on floor exercise and in the all-around. She had a great meet at the State Championships where she finished second in the all-around with a 37.375 and first on vault and balance beam. At the Region 7 Championships, she placed fifth on floor exercise and sixth on vault. Kourtney was invited to compete at the Junior Olympic NIT where she finished first on vault and sixth on balance beam.

Kourtney started her 2013 season at the Rocking Rudolph Invitational, finishing third on vault. At the Christmas on the Chesapeake, she placed first on uneven bars, second on vault and fifth in the all-around. In January 2013, Kourtney started training at World Class Gymnastics in Newport News, VA. Kourtney won the vault title at the IGI Chicago Style. At the Excalibur Cup, she finished first on uneven bars and second on vault and in the all-around. Kourtney had a solid meet at the State Championships, finishing second on vault, uneven bars, floor exercise and in the all-around. At the Region 7 Championships, she placed tenth in the all-around and fifth on vault. She competed at the Junior Olympic NIT where she finished first on vault, seventh on uneven bars and ninth on floor exercise.

During the 2013-2014 season, Kourtney finished first on vault, floor exercise and in the all-around at the Commonwealth Cup. At the World Class Invitational, she placed first on vault and second on uneven bars. Kourtney finished first on vault and second on uneven bars at the Lady Luck Invitational. At the Manhattan Classic, she won the floor exercise title. Kourtney then finished sixth in the all-around and second on vault at the IGI Chicago Style. At the Magical Classic, she finished second on floor exercise and in the all-around with a 37.575. She had another solid meet at the Greensboro Invitational, finishing second in the all-around with a 37.000 and first on uneven bars. She was the first alternate to the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup. At the State Championships, Kourtney placed fourth in the all-around, first on vault and second on floor exercise. At the Region 7 Championships, she finished sixth in the all-around and third on vault. This qualified Kourtney to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Jackson, MS where she finished fifth in the all-around, second on floor exercise and ninth on vault out of 56 gymnasts. Kourtney made the Junior Olympic National Team.

In 2015, Kourtney finished first on vault at the World Class Invitational, Sand Dollar Invitational and WOGA Classic and first on uneven bars at the Atlanta Crown Invitational. At the Buckeye Classic, she placed first on vault, uneven bars, floor exercise and in the all-around with a 38.125. At this meet, Kourtney qualified to the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup in Dallas, TX where she placed 12th in the all-around and first on vault in the junior division. At the Charleston Cup, Kourtney placed second in the all-around with a 38.175 and first on vault. She finished first on vault and uneven bars at the Tim Rand Invitational. At the State Championships, Kourtney placed second in the all-around and first on vault. She concluded her season at the Region 7 Championships, finishing 14th in the all-around with a 37.225.

Kourtney won the all-around title with a 38.400 at the 2016 State Championships. She also earned gold medals on balance beam and floor exercise and silver medals on vault and uneven bars. At the Region 7 Championships, she placed sixth in the all-around and second on floor exercise. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Ft. Worth, TX where she placed 11th in the all-around and ninth on vault.

Currently, Kourtney is preparing for the 2017 season. She trains 30-34 hours per week at World Class Gymnastics in Newport News, VA under coaches Tami Harrison and Kyle Burgsteiner. Kourtney verbally committed to Penn State University for the 2017-2018 school year.
