Krista Marie Zultevicz was born on November 6, 2001 in Danville, PA to Christopher and Christine Zultevicz. She has three sisters, Rachel, Sarah and Victoria, a dog named Diesel and a turtle, Skipperdee. Krista is an honor student at Connections Academy and she will graduate in 2020. During Krista's spare time, she enjoys fishing, boating and camping.
Krista was always flipping off the sofa, so her parents decided to enroll her into gymnastics for fun when she was eight years old. She started her competitive gymnastics career at Scorpions Gymnastics Academy in Bloomsburg, PA where she trained under coach Shellie Porter.
Krista was the 2010 Level 4 State vault champion and 2011 Level 5 State all-around, vault and uneven bars Champion. She skipped level 6 and started competing level 7 for the 2012 season. At the State Championships, she placed eighth in the all-around and fourth on vault. She was selected to represent Pennsylvania at the National Judges Cup in January 2013 where she placed seventh in the all-around with a 37.375 and fourth on balance beam and floor exercise.
During the 2012-2013 season, Krista tested out of level 8 in December 2012 and started competing level 9 in January 2013. She finished fifth on floor exercise and sixth on vault at the State Championships, qualifying to the Region 7 Championships. In the summer of 2013, Krista started training at Northeast Gymnastics in Hanover, PA. In 2014, Krista placed seventh in the all-around and third on uneven bars at the Level 9 State Championships and qualified to the Region 7 Championships.
As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2015, Krista finished ninth in the all-around and sixth on floor exercise at the Region 7 Championships. She was the second alternate for the Junior Olympic Nationals and qualified to the Junior Olympic NIT in Des Moines, IA where she placed eighth on balance beam. In 2016, Krista finished third on uneven bars and eighth on balance beam at the Region 7 Championships. In 2017, Krista finished first on floor exercise and in the all-around with a 38.200. At the Region 7 Championships, she placed third in the all-around and second on uneven bars and floor exercise. Krista qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Indianapolis, IN where she placed fourth on vault with a 9.700.
In 2018, Krista placed fourth on uneven bars with a 9.425 at the State Championships. She qualified to to the Region 7 Championships, finishing tenth in the all-around, second on vault and fifth on balance beam. In 2019, Krista placed third in the all-around with a 37.650 and first on uneven bars at the State Championships. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals after finishing fifth in the all-around with a 37.675 and fourth on uneven bars at the Region 7 Championships.
Krista trains 22 hours per week at Northeast Gymnastics Academy in Hanover, PA under coach Lori Dexter. Krista will join the University of Kentucky gymnastics team during the 2020-2021 school year.
