Kyla Savannah Bryant was born on September 10, 1998 in Columbus, Georgia. She is the youngest of two children to Sherman and Kita Bryant and she has a brother, Kaleb. During Kyla's spare time, she enjoys playing violin and art.

Currently, Kyla is a senior at Athens Academy. It is a coeducational, independent, college preparatory day school that offers traditional liberal arts curriculum and innovative approaches to teaching and learning. She is involved in Greensboro Food Pantry (Food Bank), Plantation Ladies Club Food Collection & Distribution and Be a Hero for Kajal.

Five-year-old Kyla loved to flip around the house and her parents decided that she needed to be in a safer environment. She started taking gymnastics classes and fell in love with the sport. She started her competitive gymnastics career at Georgia Elite Gymnastics in Athens, GA.

As a level 7 gymnast in 2009 at the State Championship, Kyla placed sixth in the all-around, fourth on uneven bars and seventh on balance beam and floor exercise. She moved up to level 8 in 2010 where she earned gold medals on vault, uneven bars, balance beam and in the all-around at the State Championships. As a member of Georgia State Team at the Level 8 Regionals, Kyla finished 12th in the all-around and third on vault. In 2011, Kyla placed sixth on vault at the Level 9 State Championships. At the Level 9 Regionals, she placed fifth on vault and ninth on floor exercise.

As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2012, Kyla placed second on vault and tenth in the all around at State Championships. At the Region 8 Championships, she placed eighth on vault. In 2013, she won the Georgia State Championships with all-around score of 37.575. Other than her all-around title, she also brought home gold medals on vault, balance beam and floor exercise. At the Region 8 Championships, she earned two silver medals on vault (9.725) and floor (9.625).

In 2014, Kyla earned gold medals on vault, floor exercise and in the all-around with a 37.200 and silver medals on uneven bars and balance beam at the State Championships. She finished third in the all-around with a 37.875 and first on floor exercise at the Region 8 Championships, qualifying to the Junior Olympic Nationals. At the JO Nationals in Jackson, MS, Kyla finished eighth in the all-around with a 37.800 and second on floor exercise.

Kyla swept the gold medals with all-around score of 38.100 at the 2015 State Championships. At the Region 8 Championships, she placed fourth in the all-around with a 37.850 and fourth on vault and uneven bars. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Des Moines, IA where she placed third in the all-around with a 38.400, third on balance beam and fourth on vault, uneven bars and floor exercise. She made the Junior Olympic National Team.

In 2016, Kyla qualified to the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup after winning the all-around title with a 39.000 at the Fiesta Bowl Invitational. At the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup in Newark, NJ, she placed in the top ten in the all-around and first on uneven bars in the senior division. At the State Championships, Kyla finished first in the all-around with a 38.200 and first on all events. She then finished ninth in the all-around, first on floor exercise and second on vault at the Region 8 Championships. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Ft. Worth, TX, finishing first in the all-around with a 38.700. She also earned gold medals on uneven bars and floor exercise and made the JO National Team.

Currently, Kyla is preparing for the 2017 season as a level 10 gymnast. She trains 20 hours per week at Georgia Elite Gymnastics (GEG) in Athens, Georgia training under coaches Kim Arenas, Pete Arenas and Doug Maven. Kyla is training hard to reach her goals, to qualify to the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup and Junior Olympic Nationals as well as to compete for a college gymnastics team.
