Lanie began gymnastics at the age of two with a Mommy and Me class. She was an energetic child who loved to jump, roll and flip. She was fearless and would try many things she saw the older girls doing. If she fell, she would quickly get back up and try again with a smile on her face. Her parents knew then that gymnastics was most definitely the sport she needed to be in.

Lanie was the 2015 Level 6 State All-Around Silver Medalist, 2016 Level 7 State Vault and Uneven Bars Silver Medalist, 2017 Level 8 All-Around and Vault Champion and 2017 Level 8 Regional Qualifier. In 2017, Lanie was named to Level 8 MVP by her gym. In 2018 as a level 9 gymnast, Lanie placed fifth in the all-around and fourth on vault and balance beam at the State Championships, qualifying to the Region 8 Championships. In 2019, Lanie finished fourth in the all-around and third on uneven bars at the State Championships. She qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals after finishing fifth in the all-around and third on floor exercise at the Region 8 Championships. Lanie earned Level 9 Most Improved award and Hardest Worker award by her gym. In 2020, Lanie qualified to the Level 10 State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2021, Lanie placed second in the al-around and third on all events at the Level 10 State Championships. She qualified to the Region 8 Championships where she finished in the top ten in the all-around and sixth on vault. Lanie was named MVP for her level 10 team at the team banquet. Lanie had a good 2022 season where she placed third in the all-around and second on balance beam at the State Championships. At the Region 8 Championships, she finished sixth in the all-around and fourth on balance beam. Lanie qualified to the Level 10 National Championships in Mesa, AZ where she placed 17th on floor exercise with a 9.400.

At the Region 8 Championships, she finished third in the all-around with a 37.325 and third on balance beam. She qualified to the Level 10 National Championships in Oklahoma City, OK, finishing 26th out of 56 gymnasts.
